Booking the accommodation was very simple through the TripAdvisor website, Dianne quickly gave confirmation of the booking.
We arrived at the villa and were met by Mark who showed us around and gave us tips on places to visit while we were down there. The villa was very easy to find and in a quiet area away from the village giving us lots of privacy in stunning surrounds. Inside the villa is very well presented, as is the outside area and pool house. I have to say that the TripAdvisor photos do not do this place justice.
All the basics were provided such as washing up liquid, toilet roll, fire lighters, charcoal etc, this is not particularly common amongst holiday rentals but very much appreciated.
All the bedrooms are a good size, so is the bathroom and kitchen. The pool area was lovely, lots of space to relax by the pool and loads of room to play on the grass behind. Having a pool house with a bathroom was really useful during the day and at shower times. The only criticism I have is that the pool is really cold and put off a number of the group from getting in the pool much. Also a fridge in the pool house would go down a treat.
The location is great, 10 minutes from a large supermarket in Chalais and easy to get to the main roads for trips to Cognac and Saint Emillion.
We had a lovely week here and would certainly return if we decided to visit the region again. We would highly recommend this villa to groups like ours with couples and young children or to families.
A large stunning , modern , spotlessly clean child friendly and family villa. The photos do not do the Villa justice. A fully equipped kitchen. Large Bathroom with one of the best baths ever bathed in. Four good sized bedrooms with really comfy beds and pillows. The grandchildren loved watching DVD'S in the cosy snug room at the end of a hectic day. A fantastic covered verandah outside where we enjoyed many nights sitting outside eating and drinking or just watching the stars A good sized Pool with a great Pool House. The outside space was amazing with apple trees and walnut trees. Plenty of grass area for the grandchildren and adults to play games. We
used the lovely brick built BBQ a few nights. The Villa is set in stunning countryside surrounded by rolling hills and fields of sunflowers .The villa is within easy reach of the picturesque village of Aubeterre-sur-dronne which has a variety of Restaurants and quaint shops. Two Restaurants worth a visit are Creperie La Source and La Garage (both run by English). The male members of the family went
canoeing in Brantome , another lovely village that is definitely worth a visit. There are a few River Beaches close by that are great for the children.(one in Aubeterre and another in St Aulay). There are two supermarkets close by handy for stocking up on food and beverages We all enjoyed our holiday so much that we wished we could of stayed longer and would definitely go back to this Beautiful Villa . Lastly Dianne was always available and very helpful to answer any questions via e-mail.
