I really don't think you can come closer to perfection than this place.
I stayed here on a business trip as I was photographing a wedding nearby, but I also invited my mum along as a birthday treat for a couple of days so we got to enjoy the place together.
What can I say? Nina and Hanjo are the most incredible hosts, alway willing to help and make your stay as comfortable as possible. Upon arrival we had a lovely bottle of wine cooling in our fridge which was a real treat after a day of travelling! We were shown around the place and it was even better than we could have hoped for, so well decorated with a gorgeous bathroom complete with rain shower - bliss. The place is quiet and comfortable with huge gorgeously comfortable beds, an absolute pleasure to sleep in!
Breakfast is just sublime - freshly prepared smoothies, coffee and fresh fruit along with continental staples such as bread, cheese and ham. Along with that we were given a homemade quiche and on the second morning a delicious perfectly poached egg with some fresh salmon and bread. The breakfast spread is just amazing, so much lovely fresh food and ample amounts - and even better to be given it out in their pretty garden overlooking the valley under a clear blue sky. This place is like a mini paradise. Hanjo even made me and my mum a light lunch of a gazpacho soup and more quiche - so unexpected and a lovely gesture just as I was heading out to work.
Oh let's not forget Feta and Brebis their two happy lovely little dogs - I miss those guys already!
Decor, quality of sleep, food, hosts, views, everything is exceptional and I cannot rate the Chambres d'Hotes Gaillardon highly enough, thank you Nina and Hanjo and hopefully see you again soon!
