“Fabulous stay-It's all in the details!”
Reviewed 4 August 2015 for a stay in July 2015

We just spent a lovely two weeks at L'Appart in the gorgeous Provencal village of Cotignac. We were so impressed with the attention our lovely host, Marie Agnes paid to ensuring our comfort and experience in her home. We travelled from Paris to Cotignac and (as anyone who has travelled with young kids can imagine) were tired and hungry (and hot) on our arrival in Cotignac. Marie Agnes greeted us in the apartment with two homemade savoury pies, a delicious pasta salad, a baguette and a bottle of Provencal rose. She also gifted us gorgeous Marseilles soap! These extremely thoughtful gestures set such a positive tone for us and just made settling in so easy.

We joked that Marie Agnes is a French Martha Stewart. Every detail in the apartment was well thought out, and considered with guests and service in mind. Think French vintage linens sprayed with lavendar essence on the beds. Really! The apartment was stocked with everything you could need: a picnic basket/cooler, freezer packs and picnic blanket for picnics, beach towels, toys and board games for the kids, DVDs (all in French), high chair. To our surprise, at the end of our first week, Marie Agnes changed the sheets and towels, restocked the Nespresso pods and of course, left us another bottle of wine. This was unexpected but so appreciated.

Cotignac itself is a lovely town. Quiet and yet vibrant: the Tuesday provencal market is lots of fun (there are also night markets and antique markets every week). There are also movies showing in the open air cinema under the stars twice a week in summer, as well as theatre and music performances. It is well situated to explore the area, including neighbouring villages, Gorges du Verdon, and even the coast (we did a day trip to Isle de Porquerolles with relative ease). A car is a must in this region.

One issue was very poor (mostly nonexistent) wireless connectivity in the apartment, and seemingly the town in general. However ,we can't say enough about Marie Agnes and L'Appart. If you go, you'll see what we mean!

“Great stay in cosy and comfortable apartment”
Reviewed 13 May 2015 for a stay in April 2015

Me, my husband and our 11 month old stayed for 3 weeks April-May. The apartment has all the things you possibly need, including a nespresso machine and washing machine :). It is cosy, comfortable, clean and safe for a young child - great value!
We felt very welcomed by the sweet and service minded owner. She responded to all our questions right away prior to the trip (in English). At arrival she welcomed us with home made delicacies, wine and fresh flowers. She also got us a baby bed, high chair and toys for our daughther. All very appreciated! During the stay she came to change the bed linen and filled up the stock with fresh towels, soap, more wine etc. The apartment has a good location in the village, close to the cafés, bakery, butcher etc. and nice hiking areas. We had a truly great stay and warmly recommend L'appart!

Liked best: The warm welcome and light, big living room/kitchen area
Liked least: We were informed that the wifi did not work very well. After 2 weeks me missed a good wifi access a little.

We stayed with friends for 3 nights at L'Appart and were extremely impressed with the high standard of accommodation. Everything we could possibly need in a very tastefully furnished, safe and centrally located first floor apartment. Marie Agnes responded promptly to all correspondence prior to the trip and provided the very warmest of welcomes on arrival. Her kindness enhanced the holiday and was much appreciated. The good weather allowed us to enjoy the wonderful area and we hope to return.

L'Appart is ideally situated close to the centre of the charming Provencal village of Cotignac. The apartment is spacious, stylishly renovated and extremely well equipped - as well as being excellent value. There was even a gastronomic surprise for us on arrival. The owner, Marie Agnes is friendly and very helpful. There is plenty to do around Cotignac, with both the Verdon Grand Canyon and the coast (eg St Tropez) in easy reach. We hope to return to L'Appart.

“Welcoming, convenient and comfortable... absolutely charming!”

If you’re looking for the comforts of home with the pure charms of an old-world, cobblestone French village, surrounded by the paths of lavender and sunflowers and the crystalline-clear blue alpine waters of the Gorge du Verdon, you will definitely find it here! Our family of 4 fell in love--- welcoming, convenient and comfortable, “L’appart” is a clean, well equipped and tastefully appointed apartment with every comfort you would want in a vacation home. Down to the finest detail, it was stocked with everything we needed and then some—even a picnic basket, beach towels and local guidebooks--just a few of the extra touches that made our stay so special. The friendly owner, Marie-Agnes personally welcomed us with a delicious spread of local delicacies and was graciously available by phone for anything we needed during our stay.
L'appart is situated in the heart the Provencal wine country—an easy highway drive off the interstate from Aix-en-Provence into the winding, green olive and wine covered foothills of Cotignac, and neighboring ancient villages, where the charms only begin to welcome you! Refreshingly outside of the crowded, touristy streets of big French cities, Cotignac is quaint and romantic, but still fun and energetic! Gracefully carved out of the rocky cliffs that surround it, Cotignac and L’appart are completely accessible by foot with open markets, restaurants, galleries, tourism office and the beauty of Provence surrounding you! We chose L’appart as our summer base for exploring all of haute-provence from the local wineries and olive groves to kayaking and white water rafting high in the mountain lakes and cascades, to the southern beaches and islands of St. Tropez to the sea-side charms of Cannes, Nice, Marseille and even Monaco-- there's so much here to see and do!
Easily accessed and centrally located, L' appart is a great vacation home in an idyllic location (though a rental car is a must for exploring this expansive region!) We loved our stay in Cotignac at L’appart and are certain you will too!
Bon Voyage!!
