“Ski holiday”
Reviewed 4 March 2014

Great place to stay, ski in/out. Fabulous. Short walk to the village, no need to walk after 6pm , complementary shuttle taxi service into the village, then ring them up to pick you up later on in the night, great !

We would not stay any where else in Flaine - apartments are spacious and have everything you need. ski in ski out can be done, you just have to brave Tourmaline. Minibus drop off and pickup service is great way to get around the resort at night.

This is a 5 star facility and it looks nice and the rooms are well put together but I have to say I came away feeling a little disappointed overall because it wasn't quite 5 star quality for me. The main areas of 'averageness'...The sofa in the room was a sofa bed and really really uncomfortable to sit on with not alot of other options for relaxation, the free TV was just French TV and no DVD or other entertainment facility, the wifi was really rubbish and limited to 1 log in per room, the bedding was a bit cheap for 5 star. The restaurant/bar area was a bit too formal and so the social side of evening mingling was also a bit disappointing especially as the accomodation is a good 15 minute walk to Flaine and the bus stops at 6:30pm. The kids enjoyed the swimming pool and hot tub area. The boot room was ok and the ski in ski out facility is ok but not so good for little kids because of how the ramps are set up from the piste. Check in was also really really long but on the whole the staff were friendly and our stay was absolutley fine just not 'wow' like I was hoping for :-)

We have just returned from a marvellous half term ski holiday in Flaine, staying at Les Terrasses d'Eos.

We had a 1 bedroom superior room, and whilst it does not look as large as on the web site (and is in fact quite cosy), the room was well equipped and comfortable. A ski holiday is not really about time spent in the room, so this was adequate and we all had a good nights sleep.

In terms of location, this is out of town. During the day you can ski out if you are comfortable on narrowish blue runs. Otherwise it's the ski bus, for which you can wait a good 15 mins. For ski in forget it at peak times if you are skiing in Flaine, because the queues for Gran Vans are horrendous. But if you are skiing over in Morillon, Samoens etc then ski back is possible if you are happy with the icy and bumpy Tourmalaine blue.

In the evening an excellent shuttle service ferries you into and out of town if you haven't time for the 20 min walk. We also found the ski hire service brilliant - book SkiSet through the hotel and they will shuttle you to the shop, and even waited for us to collect our internet shop from Sherpa (which was a far better value way of getting your shopping than the hotels expensive grocery service).

They now have a restaurant and bar in the hotel. We ate there once - it was OK but a little expensive and no better than you can get in Flaine. It was hardly ever full and my view is that they need to make it a little more basic and family friendly for it to really be a success.

The hot tub and pool are superb. If you avoid peak times between 4&6 then they are a lovely relaxing experience after a days skiing. I've read another review saying that the pool wasn't as warm as expected and there was no steam as in the hotel picture. That was not our experience - I struggle to get my wife into the pool on a summer holiday in Spain, but she used the outdoor pool at Les Terrasses d'Eos - and there was plenty of steam!

Next time I will have a look at hotels more centrally located, but probably return here due to the good quality of accommodation and excellent service,

We stayed in unit 200 which was a 2 bedroom, sleep 6, "Espace" apartment. This was the best ski apartment we've stayed in in Europe, modern, very spacious, well equipped and very clean.

This is a large apartment complex which is a little out of town. This isn't really an issue as there is a regular ski bus till early evening and then a couple of free hotel mini vans are available to take you to and from the main village. We called it most evenings and on all but one they collected us within 5 minutes.

There is however, no shop or cafe on site. Breakfast items can be ordered the previous evening and there is a small restaurant which opens in the evening. We were disappointed with the outdoor pool and hot tub/sauna which are far too small for the size of the complex and not hot when we used them.

The complex does have a ski in/out option from a green run but be warned to access the small lift that takes you to the top of the green run from the main ski area you need to use the Grands Vans chair lift. This is a high speed 8 man lift which takes you to the top of the mountain. You then have a busy 2.5km blue run back to the bottom of the green access lift. Not ideal for beginners or tired little skier at the end of a long day.

Overall I'd highly recommend the accommodation due to the overall quality of the apartment but be aware of the location.

Everything was excellent! Ski-in ski-out, rooms, restaurant, good beds. Staff was very kind and helpfull with different issues. Once you come here, you will come back. The view from the apartment was outstanding, the outside pool was favourite by the kids.
