Just back from flaine w/e 29/03/2014. had a great stay in PV terraces d'eos (montsoleil). Very comfortable apartment for 2 adults and 2 kids. Good facilities in the hotel but pool could be a tad warmer. ski in ski out was great but could imagine the Tourmaline run being very busy at peak times during the year. look forward to visiting again in the future.

Room Tip: Ideally south facing for the views

Good points - friendly staff, very clean and well appointed apartments, ski out is a joy on the prettiest run in Flaine. Very nice outdoor pool. Sensibly priced wine/beer/soft drinks at reception. Restaurant food nice (although pricey and service pleasant but slow). Great is you like self catering as kitchens great - but isn't this a holiday? restaurants for me every time.

Room for improvement - ordering crossants in a bag the night before to scoff in your room is a bit barbaric. If you arrive after 7pm you will go hungry on your first morning. Surely a continental buffet is in order - there is just room for that. Ski in is down Tourmaline which gets mogully. Beginners would struggle. If you are a family of 4 you need 2 bedrooms really rather than one plus lounge. Not so much for sleeping arrangements but more for storage space which is very tight. We were 3 people and the one bedroom was too small in terms of storage.

Would either stay here or at Le Centaure which apparantly is similar in standard and price - pricey enough to keep noisy youngsters away which I gather can be a problem ( I was young once ).

Skiing superb for intermediates. Flaine town designed by a famous architect who really needs locking up rather than being revered. But the ugly architecture can be ignored. No queues even at weekend. Apparently you should avoid French school holidays as it can get busy.

Room Tip: south facing for views

great place, helpful staff, clean apartment, a bit small for the 6 of us staying there, but still comfortable. excellent free shuttle service from hotel to village, lovely spa facilities, easy access to slopes. only gripe would be a near-complete lack of wifi but this wasn't the end of the world. highly recommended.

We really enjoyed our stay at Les Terrasses d'Eos. The apartment was small for 6 of us, but we were very comfortable, it was very clean and well furnished. The staff were very helpful and it was very convenient for skiing. The hotel's free shuttle service into the village was especially useful. The only reason I've given it 4 instead of 5 stars is because there was close to no wifi - very intermittent and a bit frustrating. But I wouldn't not recommend it because of that - as long as you know beforehand, it really isn't an issue. The spa was such a bonus and a really lovely way to wind down after a long day of skiing.

Great room (28) which had 2 bedrooms & 2 bathrooms downstairs and a living/dining/kitchen upstairs with another toilet. Nice balcony overlooking the ski-slopes. Could ski in/out (even when the snow was a bit thin).

I've just returned from my second trip to Flaine, both times staying in the Les Terrasses d'Eos / Montsoleil Appartments...not sure why they're called different things but it's the same wonderful place!

I've been with Crystal from the UK on both occasions, they were good, as always.

The staff at the Les Terrasses d'Eos / Montsoleil Appartments were fabulous, always attentive and polite, both behind reception but also when passing a cleaner or maintenance guy in the corridor.

The ski lockers are excellent with a padlock supplied with the room, we had a south facing balcony so had the luxury of being able to air and dry out boots in the sunshine after coming home (yes, we had a ridiculous amount of sun! - and the snow held up really well). This property most certainly is ski-in ski-out, Don't push getting back much after 16:45 though, the run down to the Gerts chairlift (I think that's what it's called - it's the last little lift you need to get home) gets closed about then - we made it but I wouldn't like to push it...although if you do miss it it's only a 5-10 minute walk home.

The hotel's facilities are first class - particularly in France, many places I've stayed at are often tired (even when new) and when something breaks it takes an age to get fixed. Not here...very impressive, exactly why I returned. The sauna, jaccuzi, steam room and pool were all comfortable, clean and very enjoyable. Perhaps avoid the 4-5 hour as it gets quite busy. We returned at 3 on a couple of days which was pleasant but it's open through to 9pm, at which point it's dead (no kids), ideal...and quite spectacular in the dark!

The WiFi is appalling, it's my only serious gripe - it was a blooming nightmare, better to have nothing than have something that teases you with the prospect of connectivity....you guys must get this sorted - it's not rocket science!...but, by default they'll give you one WiFi code, ask for one each and if they don't give them then pop down each shift change and request one from a new member of staff :-)

We didn't try the onsite restaurant or bar, although both seemed busy most evening's we passed. We cooked every night, the bonus was having a proper fan oven (and 4 way electric hob) in the apartment, 3 tasty cakes were some of it's delicious products. Each apartment comes with a little box of cleaning products - as far as I remember: a cloth, washing up liquid, bin bags, dishwasher tablets etc.

The TV has BBC World as it's only English station, Eurosport was a bit of a mixture. Although the TV has an HDMI input it's locked out to the Hotel TV system. TV Channel 20 takes source from a SCART socket on the back, if you want to watch movies from a laptop for example then you probably won't be able to unless you bring the correct signal converters & plugs. There were a reasonable selection of movies for around E10, but nothing that's going to blow your socks off.

If you get the chance to upgrade then do, usually this will mean moving from the North facing back of the complex to the South facing front - and the views are truly stunning. You'll probably have to pay but just do it!

Our apartment slept 4, there was a double room and then a sofa bed with plenty of space for hanging and cases etc. The sofa bed was a double and actually very comfortable. The apartment is furnished very well, lovely, homely feel that isn't cheap - like so much of France. There are no draughts and the curtains are proper blackouts. The beds are all made when you arrive, there's a bath towel and a hand towel each, but only 2 robes and slippers, we asked for another two and they were most obliging.

A Raclette Grill and Fondue set are available to borrow (for free) from reception - best to get in there early and reserve one as they'll get booked up quickly!

Each evening, by 6pm you can order croissants, pain au chocolat, breads etc - they're E1.50 each and are delivered around 7am each morning, well worth doing, although the stomp down the to patisserie is only 5 minutes down the hill into the Forum - it's next to the Spar shop and Charcuterie.

There's a complimentary mini bus service that runs down into the town, I'm not sure if it runs during the day but we certainly benefited in the evenings, I believe it finishes at midnight. You simply call the driver when you want to come home.

All in all this place is marvellous. They need to sort the WiFi but realistically it's a minor point - and we could all do with a little less connectivity in our lives!

I'm most certainly recommend it - would I go back, yes.

Room Tip: Get upgraded to a South facing room at the front of the hotel...you might have to pay but swallow it...

Great place to stay, ski in/out. Fabulous. Short walk to the village, no need to walk after 6pm , complementary shuttle taxi service into the village, then ring them up to pick you up later on in the night, great !
