“A busy bar and restaurant”
Reviewed 21 February 2014

A bar and restaurant that also serves bar food. We always eat here on the first and last night of our holiday. The staff speak French and English and are very friendly. Prompt service. An enjoyable experience.

Very friendly. English and French speaking.
Changed owners but service is still very good.
Food is very nice. A variety of plates.
Maybe an extra menu for the children (hamburger; spaghetti)

“Disappointing New Year's Eve experience”
Reviewed 30 January 2014

Went here for NYE on the recommendation of our rep, but was very disappointing. Our main complaint was that they insisted we must have the €65 set menu which was duck - a few of the group don't eat duck but they insisted that no changes or alternatives were possible. They eventually agreed to a fish option for one o us. However, on the night we saw steak after steak leave the kitchen and discovered there was a €45 steak menu available which we would have prefered but the staff at the front desk clearly hadn't wanted to "downsell" to us! Second, the food itself was poor - the duck itself was dry and flavourless and not worth €65. Finally, the atmosphere was bizarre, and there wasn't even a countdown for midnight - we started the new year in a state of some confusion, checking our watches and asking each other the time!

“Good food, but a bit pricey”
Reviewed 28 January 2014

Ate here twice during January 2014 and found the food very good. Two seperate menu's for the bar and restraunt and since we didn't eat in the bar I can't comment on that element. However, the food in the restraunt was of good quality and the variety was sufficient to keep eight people interested enough to visit twice.

The wine list was good and the service was attentive and friendly. Only real complaint would probably be the prices, but them Flaine doesn't appeare to have a lot of competition.
