“Great vacation”
Reviewed 17 March 2013

First time we done this type of ski trip.In all everything was great, staff, accommodation ,transfers.
very large property and you can become quite lost in the vastness of the place.
Meals very good and lots of choice, can get a little tiresome after a few days though.
great if you have kids as everything is taken care of from passes, food, lessons,!

Right from the get go this was an amazing vacation! Accommodations, food, entertainment, skiing, guild ... It was all like clock work. From morning till night, non stop fun ! The service was exceptional, everyone was very courteous and helpful, the food was a major feast every night. The entertainment and dancing every night was exhilarating. And than the skiing and guild? Couldn't have been any better! Would I go again? In a heart beat!

We wanted so much to spend a Christmas Holiday away, to see the French Alps, and to ski.... ski a lot! We found it! I'll admit, I was a little hesitant to book a Club Med Vacation. I had heard many stories (good and bad). We were also a little hesitant at the sheer size of the resort. After all.... 1000 people in one place cant be good.... right? But we were wrong. I'll try to divide up each portion of the trip:

The resort itself: Beautiful! The staff does an amazing job of keeping the place spotless. For all the kids running around and people there, I never saw something on the floor or dirty dishes piled up.... really outstanding. The rooms were very nice..... not huge.... but very adequate . I actually found the rooms reminiscent of a cruise ship. I loved having a balcony and we had adjoinign rooms for the kids. Our rooms were also kept spotless!
The gym was good and the exercise classes were great. The instructor was fantastic and multi lingual!
The ski lockers are SO convenient .... boot/ glove dryers and plenty of room for all our equipment!

Food: Excellent. The majority of meals are buffet style. I guess this has to be your thing... I would prefer a mix of buffet and sit down service.... but overall they do a spectacular job. When do you ever go to a buffet with top notch chefs at every station. I was really blown away by this for every meal. The quality and quantity of food was great!
My only negative about the buffet is the kids! Parents... control your children at a buffet. Its not a playground and its utterly disgusting how the children touch plates and food and don't take them.

Skiing: Amazing!! First off, the location could not be better. You literally walk out of the ski locker room and hop on a lift! You can access both sides of the resort right there. Also, the RF cards as lift tickets are extremely easy and modern. The skiing and snow was just amazing. If there is actually better skiing somewhere else.... someone tell me because I could not want for more.
Even at peak holiday time, the lines were not bad at all and the slopes not too crowded.
The on-mountain restaurants were delightful. As an American Skier... this was a treat! To find different chateaus on the mountain making fresh crepes and desserts was amazing. The hospitality was also incredible.

Staff: I cant say enough about the staff. From the phenomenal Chef du Village to the waiters, housekeepers, and of course--- the bar tenders (Catre - AMAZING!!!!!), we were thrilled. Now my French leaves much to be desired... but instead of frustration, folks did all they could to help us get what we needed and to interact as best they could.

Overall.... fantastic vacation!!!! Best Christmas Holiday EVER! We will be back!!!!

Great place, nice food, big rooms with plenty of storage. Good sound proof and very convenient for babies/toddlers. One thing which does not live up to a 4T is the bathroom. Small. The bathroom at La Plagne 2100 is so much better and matches the quality of the hotel. Staff very nice and ski instructors great. Pistes fantastic. LGreat location. Always found a place in the bar and restaurant and we are 6 adults and 7 children! Highly recommended.

We were going on our 9 th Club med skiing holiday and we have been really happy each time.
We were a party of 5 ,3 adults (included one 18 yr old ) and 1 teenager and 1 child (8)
the flights ,hotel ,food ,ski groups everything for 4 of us was perfect.
almost everything for the 8 year old was perfect ,except the skiing.
Club MED PEISEY VALLANDRTY is not suitable for childern learning to ski..
more than 60 childern were in the beginners group in the snow garden.By tues day evening a lot of the 60 were still in the snow garden.
the childern get taken from the mini club at about 930 and are lucky if they get 4 runs of 20 yds all morning ..

I queried this on tuesday lunch time as my 4 other childern were always on the mountain on the second day ...I was told we would see instructors on tues evening ....this was a disaster ,the instructors had no idea who the childern were and it ended with all the english parents going to esf to book private lessons for the kids.....EVENTUALLY The ESF manager realised he had a problem and started talking to parents but he did not reassure us....After a private lesson the childern all moved quickly on to the mountain........The holiday was fantastic except for this part and so different to all other club meds so pick your club med wisely if you have small childern whom you want to ski..
Eric the manager of club med and his staff are fantastic and it is not good that thay are let down by esf..as we are paying this sort of money to ski ....

The club is situated in the middle of the Ski Paradis area. Just next to the cabine that connects Les Arcs and La Plagne. we were very lucky to get Laurence Echavel ( LoLo) as our ski instructor. She made it for us, since she is both very professional and very nice. we had the most wonderful ski sessions where we improved our technique as well as enjoyed ourselves. As for the hotel, the room was actually a suite with balcony, although there were just the 2 of us.We were told that this room was the standard.the stuff was always eager to assist you, whether at the restaurant with Jean Christoff, who was always there for us, or Jeome (JeJe) at the Ski room who assist us with great patient with the equipment. The bar team were also remarkable. We definitely intend to come back.

Just returned from 4th holiday at this Club and am reminded why it is the jewel in Club Meds crown.

The hotel is laid out in what appears to be a sprawl of chalet type buildings linked together and feels quite intimate and cosy despite the fact it is quite large. The log fire in the bar area and the various seating areas mean you can always find a spot to unwind at the end of a great days skiing in the Paradiski area to which you get a complete area pass. People just don't realise what great value for money CM is! Great selection of international drinks and all inclusive so easy to have one too many!

The team this year was headed up by the Chief of the Village, Eric ,whom we have met in Bodrum before and is becoming one of our favourites. He has put together an international team of staff who are are incredibly friendly and helpful and nothing is too much trouble and make you feel at home. Vincent in reception became a firm friend and looked after us for the whole week. Even when we got stuck on the mountain during particularly poor weather a group of staff whom we had bumped into on their day off got us back to the hotel safely - Thanks Dominic... we would still be out there if it was not for you :-)

As its a french firm the food is usually outstanding though we did find a few things which were a bit tasteless and bland in the first few days but there is so much choice this really is rather mute.
Quite a few pounds were added during this holiday which is always the problem with Club Med as the food is so good.

Had loads of fresh snow so we should have been happy but very poor visibility and poor light meant we only skied a little in the first few days and were stuck in the hotel but this was really not a problem as we just crashed out by the fire, took advantage of the free wifi, read, ate, drank and wanted for nothing as the bar team looked after us very well.

So all in all another great trip, already booking for next year - cannot recommend this Club enough as you will see in my previous reviews. Book it now and you will be pleased you did

Room Tip: Try and get a room on a floor above the ski room so you can just nip down the staircase in the morni...
