Don't expect a charming B&B in a tourist city with loads of ambiance, stunning views or a spa experience. It is a "Hampton Inn" in Germany, designed for business and leisure travelers looking for a good stay at a fair price (especially considering the prices across the river in Switzerland!) The rooms are spotless and large by European standards with a separate sitting area, bathrooms great, staff friendly and helpful (although it helps to speak a little German), easy access to the city center (by car), free parking across the street, quiet neighborhood and the German breakfast was both plentiful and delicious. The town itself was charming and the Hotel St. Fridolin would make a good base for exploring that part of Southern Germany or Northern Switzerland. Highly recommend it.

Nice hotel, big and clean rooms, fair prices, a bit far from the city center, there is no staff 24 hours a day, and the wifi wasn't working well. breakfast is fair, service fine, only at the reception they speak English.
The town is lovely, and possible to cross the river to Switzerland by a charming wood-bridge. Plenty activities and landmarks in the area, 60 minutes train to Basel with pass that you get,

Nice hotel in a nice town on the borders with Switzerland. We found all the accommodation we expected to find. Nothing more or less. One can easily visit cities and landmarks either in Germany or Switzerland by staying here. Very quiet and the personnel helpful. I could recommend it to all.

Nice and roomy. The hotel is suitable for the disabled and so the rooms are huge including the shower - you can play tennis in there :-). Great value and breakfast was delicious. Parking for free in front of the hotel. Very quiet place overall. Good for discovering Zurich and the Rheinfalls. It's much cheaper than the competition around those sights. Though do not count with the kitchen, because it costs a fee of approx. €50 no matter how long you're staying, even for one night - otherwise the kitchen stuff is locked.

Just returned from a 3-night break to the Bad Sackingen region and was totally impressed by this hotel in every single respect. The trip was mainly in Basel-Zurich area but we decided to stay across the border as i rate German hotels very highly. I was not disappointed!

The hotel is easy to find, has free parking right outside and is in a very quiet, pretty area, surrounded by quiet streets and only a minute or two's drive from town centre. There is a key drop box outside if you arrive to check in late which is a great idea as reception closes at 8.00pm, we arrived just in time to catch reception and was greeted and checked in by the owner who was professional, helpful and at the same time very friendly and welcoming. The perfect welcome after a long journey. She then gave us advice on a fantastic restaurant in the town centre.

The rooms are stunning, very large, very well furnished with quality linen and bedcovers, quiet, well decorated and very well appointed, huge bathrooms with excellant shower and quality towels. There is a lounge area too and a sofa and desk seperate to the bedroom, all in all a 5-star standard room in terms of quality.

Housekeeping is ogf a VERY high standard in all areas

Breakfast (continental) was included in the rate and again, very high quality and plentiful with excellant coffee, hot food is extra but charged at such a good rate it is worth it if you do like a hot breakfast.

There is free WIFI, a business centre with broadband connection and an honesty bar, all little touches that make this a high quality establishment. It is way more than and B&B but its not a hotel but for me this place covers what i'm looking for in a hotel. Namely:

1) A good night's sleep. ( quality bed and quiet)
2) A decent shower
3) Decent Coffee and breakfast
4) Good service
5) Clean

All these things they do to a 5-star standard but with so many added little touches too.

Would not hesitate to reccommend and will definatley return
