The way how we ended up in Gosch is not probably the best advertisement for the hotel - after a long day and drive through Scandinavia, we arrived in Grömitz late at night and the only hotel that had vacancies (we checked about 10 hotels and 4 campsites) was Gosch.
Nevertheless we were quite surprised that the price level was much lower than in the fully booked competitors and the service of the hotel was excellent. The staff was very helpful and they even found us a free parking spot, eventhough the hotel is right in the centre of the town.
As we arrived late, we could not enjoy the restaurant but the breakfast in the morning was really abundant. And very german.
The rooms were big and we actually got an apartment with 2 rooms for the price of one. This was excellent. Too bad that we just spent one night there and left early in the morning (being in transit to France).
There were not many things to complain about. The shower room could have used a little renovation and the central town is probably not the prime location for Grömitz (the most desirable hotels are more close to sea) but these are minor details. The overall impression was very good and I would not hesitate to stay there again. But it would probably be smart thing to book ahead, especially in the high season (summer months).More
