Having been used to all inclusives in Cuba, my fiance's decision to save money for our wedding led to us staying here which was a bit of an eye opener. The hotel was good, and sorted out our missing double bed very efficiently. The onsite bar was great for a warm up drink before wandering into town in the evening. The location was great as you missed the noise of the strip but were only 15 minutes walk away.

Overall the hotel was nice and clean compared to the ones on the strip, would never stay there again though. It's more of a family based hotel so you have to be on your best behaviour. The security guard is horrible you can't even walk in quietly without him telling you to shh! Or shining his torch in your face. We got a warning on the first night for being 'too loud' what do they expect in Malia. A few nights later he came knocking on the door telling us 'you leave tomorrow' I then had to beg the manager to let us stay. The cleaner is rude too and tells you she wants you out the room within ten mins.

It is a good distance walk from the strip only around 5-10 minutes, depending how fast you walk but far enough that the music and noise isn't heard. It has a nice mix of mainly young people but a few older, but this may be as we went in peak season for clubbing. It was a great holiday the clubs were great. The hotel was clean the pool was spotless, the bar food was very good and reasonably priced. One minor thing was we were self-catering and only had a kettle and fridge, though we may have had bad luck as some neighbors of our told us they had a stove. One morning the maid did come in and woke us up and told us to get out the room in 20 minutes, which wasn't to pleasant, this was around 11:30 am, but only happened one morning. Judging by the other hotels we seen around Malia ours was the best choice, we was very happy we stayed there. The shower was very powerful but a little small but was good enough for a daily wash. We did keep running out of toilet roll but we stole some from reception, then when we knew the maid was going to visit hid our toilet roll so we got another one, so it wasn't a huge problem. The room was fairly big for the price too. The hotel is right on the beach and to get a smoother bit of sand and sea is only a 2 minute walk with sun-beds but its nice to stay by the pool to as it is well maintained. All in all very good holiday! Would go again!

Overall the location is amazing right on the beach front, with a great view of the sea and beautiful sunsets, a short walk away from the strip and Malia palace. Far enough away from noise but close enough to all the popular locations.

However the room was dirty, with mold in the showers and holes and blood on the sheets. The manager was rude and was only interested if you were spending money at the bar. He had a general attitude of disrespect due to our age. He rudely whistled at my friend to get out of the pool at 5 to 9 rather than politely asking us to get out, and refused us pool access at 8 15, 45 minutes before the pool closed. In general he was very disrespectful and i will not be returning there. I do not recommend wasting your money here.

My sister and I travelled to Malia last minute and the week before the season actully kicked off so the hotel was qiet and we were amongst the first guests to arrive. The room was clean spacious and had all that we would need for a weeks stay. The balcolny was small but adequate with stunning views. The beach was literally a few steps from the hotel pool and the strip no more than a 5 minute walk. The staff here are incredible. Toula was so warm and welcoming and had fantastic knowledge of the local area. Tony the barman is a laugh a minute and really knows how to get the party started. Greek night on Sunday was so much fun! the food laid out was so tasty and it really was value for money. We ate here most of the time because of the price and how gorgeous everything on the menu was. It was all fresh and some home grown and there is something for everyone. The pool was cold (like the sea) but perfect once you got in there is a Jacuzzi bit in there too. The grounds are all well maintained and I have to say I dont think you could find a better located hotel in Malia. Close enough to walk to everything far enough away to avoid all the noise. We went before the season started so it was quiet but this will not be the case during high season.

Room Tip: As for a top floor sea facing room you get a bigger balcony and the sunset is amaing :)

I have been going to Malia many years now and most of the time I have stayed at these apartments, mainly because the first time I ever stayed here I fell in love with them... They have awesome views and can be see from any rooms you stay in....They are located right on the seafront out of the way of the hussle and bussle of the main strip although the main strip is only about a 10 minute walk away so this is ideally located.... The rooms are basic but very clean, if you are in need of anything just ask and the friendly staff will do there upmost to accommodate there is ample of sunbeds located around the pool area and also in the grass area.... Food is served on a daily basis from breakfast, snacks to main courses and Tanya the cook is one of the best cooks around.... Tony the bar man is an absolute legend always there to help with a smile of his face also have competitive rates, there is also a pool table and tv located in the bar, great nights and really good friends... Internet is available in the foyer and also free Wi-Fi is available in the bar... If you require taxi's to the strip, favourite restaurants just ask and the staff will be happy to book you one, nothing is ever too much to ask for in my experience at the Pyrgos Beach Apartments.... One to watch out for is there Greek BBQ Night, well worth the money, great food, great entertainment, Greek dancing the works.... These apartments are suitable for all ages, couples, friends, families and lone travellers... Perfectly located with its amazing views, friendly staff, great atmosphere, splash pool for the kids, jacuzzi and main pool... Just a walk along the beach to a quiet beach with free sunbeds and just a walk down the beach the other way is a more active beach with watersports etc... There is always a member of staff at hand and security on a night time who are always happy to help

We arrived 7th Sept an excellant location on the beach, lovely quiet pool area. Pyrgos is a small site and not a sprawling hotel and very quiet and relaxing and great service from a very friendly team run by Tula, very friendly atmosphere lots of people on return visits as we will be as we are definitley going back again, the secret of this place is book dates outside school holidays, the location is far enough from the noise and dont be put off by people who say Malia is 18-30. The nightime is split, families and the more mature of us seem to return to there hotels at 11.30 - midnight and that is when the young come out to play. Pyrgos is 10 min walk from the strip and 15-20 min to old town. The faciliities in the room are extremely basic and not really suitable for self catering which does not bother us as we were on holiday and eat out and food is so cheap or expensive dependant on what you want, left at the end of the lane for 2 lovely greek restaurents of right to the strip. The snacks cooked by the beach bar are great which are served all day.The rooms are big enough for two and the shower is small but you can cope, at the end of the day you are only in the room to sleep and shower but we just had a standard room there are larger rooms but it seems to be were you fly from as to what rooms are available, larger rooms seem to be on flights from Gatwick.
We notices some comments about ants and yes we had some in the room but as soon as the air con was on to cool the room they went
The downside only one THOMAS COOK from the time we arrived until we got to the apartment TC were basically non existant, the rep loves texting though.

Room Tip: The west side of the hotel have slightly better views on the higher floors
