“Amazing hotel, rubbish food”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 13 May 2013

Stayed at this hotel for our first girly holiday of a group of 6.
It's right on the beach which is amazing and it's in a good spot to walk into the centre too.
We weren't placed in the main hotel, we were given the chalet's. They were what's to be expected of a 3* hotel, you get what you pay for after all. They were clean and basic but liveable.
I can honestly say the hotel was brilliant, lovely pool areas, helpful and friendly staff and it was all clean throughout.
The only downfall is the all inclusive. The food was no good to be honest, I am a fussy eater so maybe this didn't help but there wasn't much choice in all honesty. I lived off bread and potato croquets! The alcoholic drinks also, no good. Obviously being in Greece their typical drink is Ouzo, which isn't great to be drinking all the time. They have their lager which is not too bad and wines which again, not bad if you like wine. I spent a hell of a lot of money on food and drink in the week which is annoying when you've paid for all inclusive. They have a snack bar which serves your junk food like pizza and burgers, you'd expect this to be within the all inclusive, but it isn't you have to pay for it. Most all inclusive hotels have snack options throughout the day as well as the 3 main meals but not here.
Other than that it really is a great place to stay, especially for groups of friends. Watch out for the security guard he can be a little grumpy but we all made friends with him, even gave him a pet name-Mustachio!
They have fab entertainment on each night which we really enjoyed before hitting the strip.
Would definitely recommend but would make sure you pack plenty of Super Noodles!!

Pros. The hotel is located near the sea. Responsive, helpful staff. Good food. Near the small shops.
Cons. Very noisy hotel. When someone closes the door of their room, sounds like they slammed door of the entire force - very big noise. When the action takes place in the bar until late at night, sleep is very difficult. It is very hard to rest in rooms even at day time. Located away from the city center, someone may like it, but we felt a bit too far, about 20 - 30 minutes on foot.

Booked a week here in May 2010 and got it at a great price inclusive of all accomodation, food, drinks and flights. As it had been so cheap we weren't expecting too much but were pleasantly surprised. The rooms were large and accommodating with a double and single bed, fully fitted bathroom with shower and bath and dressing table area. There was also a large balcony with chairs and table - perfect for starting the night in. The location was quite far from the main strip of Malia but we hired a quad for the week and enjoyed being able to get away from all the craziness now and again.
The food on offer was really nice - not amazingly fancy but we were more than happy with it. The alcoholic drinks weren't great but they did a fairly nice beer on tap free all day until 11pm at night.
Would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Malia. However if you want to go there purely to party the distance from town may prove difficult so perhaps stay somewhere closer. The Triton Hotel is a similar price and all inclusive but right in the middle of town however nowhere near as nice as Phaedra.

I stayed a week at Phaedra Beach with my parents and younger sister. It was appropriate for chilling and doing nothing besides going to the swimming pool and beach; everything was near.
The food was good. I really enjoyed it. Also, it was clean all over the place. The rooms were cleaned everyday. The showers from the pool and beach were really useful.
As many already said, the sunbeds from the pool were reserved with towels before 7 a.m.. Of course, one could have them removed and occupy the sunbeds, but what followed depended on the diplomacy of the "victim". The ones from the beach costs 3 euros each. The beach was nice, rocky after the entrance in the sea, but a TIP: go in the little golf (direction west); it is really close and has rocks only on the sides.
It is a place with many rooms and there are all types of people there. The noisy young crows can disturb, but they don't spend much time there. If one keeps the windows open the noise from outside is to be heard (also after 11 p.m.). It depends on how easy one can sleep. I had no problems.
As a whole it is a nice place and I recommend it to people who have not really high expectations.

Was amazed by the cleanliness, most of all of the pool area. Food was good and staff really friendly. It's situated right on the beach but for those without any means of transport whom would like to visit the busy nightlife area it's more than 30-45min walk. The room was very clean but also very small, didnt bother me much as you only need the room for shower & sleep :) On the other hand the pool area is excellent and very spacious...On the whole it was an excellent stay....

And again a nice holiday in Phaedra beach Malia !

Everything was nice and tidy , the staff like always very friendly.
The Hotel is not a grand luxe hotel, for that price it would be impossible .
But in my opinion the price/quality is great!

And to be honest (somebody mentioned before) the doors of the rooms are noisy.
but thats the only small point i have.
This year there were more russians than the year before but to be honest there wasn't any problem!

I can recommend this hotel to young couples or families with a small to medium budget.

I've stayed in this hotel for a week this summer 2012 with two kids (3 and 12 years old). The room was nice and clean, we had frigde, which helped a lot to save money :) We didn't take all inclusive, so we bought some food in the nearest shops. The supermarket on the left of the hotel is a bit cheaper that on the right.Although both are rather expencive comparing with big supermarkets in the center of Malia or Agios Nikolaos.
The food in the hotel was good, not a big choise, but of a good quality. Drinks were for free during the breakfast, but for dinner we had to buy. The stuff was friendly.
The hotel has 3 swimming pools with sea water for kids (they change water and clean the pools every 2 days!) and one swimming pool for adults with pure water.
As we didn't have all inclusive the sun beds at the swimming pool and at the sea were 3 euro per day.
Air conditioners in the room worked normally, it was for free, I only asked for remote controls at the reception.
We rented the car for couple of days, it's much cheaper to do outside the hotel then inside the hotel. We visited the lake Kournas, which was quite beautiful, plateau Lassithi, which was a waste of time :), city Agios Nikolaos was beautiful, especially the cafe above the harbour.
Also we were impressed by hospitality of Greek people.
All in all we had fantastic time, for sure we'll come back to Greece.
