“The Service & Food are a Religion to the Staff”

First time in Italy last week, quality of service, rooms, & the whole ambience of the hotel was of good quality. The staff in particular are what sets the hotel apart, the Maitre Di Angelo runs a tight shop and has a good team around him who work non stop as as a team to ensure everything runs smoothly. You will not get better value for money!! Watch out for Carmine who is probably over retirement age, he owns the dance floor!! A great week, see you all next year.

Because of the gushing reviews on this hotel and believe me they are well founded, excellent staff, good food, rooms, etc., I have thought hard about what could be improved. This hotel is perfect if all you want to do is eat, drink and sit around the pool all day, job done. But if you want to go out on some excursions take your cheque book because they are extortionate and the 3 we did which cost over 600 Euros were not that great. One boat trip we went on was a shambles (over to the two islands). Collected 09.30 and dumped a the harbour with no rep, then after an hour were told we would have to be processed ??? and after hours at sea in what was no more than a small motor boat we got back at 8.15 in the evening, cold, hungry and wet - absolute nightmare. Anyway back to the hotel. We were put in the Annexe - nice room not huge but lovely four poster (no idea why) small balcony with small table and two chairs. You couldn't sit out there only large enough the dry towels and we were supposed to have a garden view but had a gravel path view which led up to the pool. Ill fitting shower which was located in the middle of the bath over the taps and only half a shower screen. Therefore bathroom flooded everytime you used the shower. The cleaning was fine, but to tell the truth other than make the bed there was not much else to do. The restaurant and food was fine, waiter service for two courses and a large buffet table which was laden with deserts and some nibbles which you could have before your first course, no complains there. The staff went out of their way with their Italian smarm, sorry I mean charm :-) with the ladies most of whom who were lapping up the attention, thinking they were something special. Entertainment was very same old, same old with Boring & Boring (him on the organ and his mrs singing or on the saxaphone). If I never hear Skyfall murdered (Adele would have heart failure) and Baker Street, I suppose because there is a Sax solo, I will die happy. The highlight of my evening was Gio the singing/dressing up waiter in the bar area. He could entertain me without even trying - certainly the star attraction as far as I was concerned.

The shuttle bus into Sorrento works well - it needs to be booked the day before and takes about 20 mins into the centre of Sorrento where there are some lovely bars, restaurants and shops. It make a change to get out of the hotel as you an become stir crazy as its so isolated with nowhere to stroll out to of an evening.

The pool area is nice, only spoilt by the 9am brigade ready with their towels when the pool opens to bag their spot meaning if you are out for the morning or don't get up to the pool until later you are stuffed as there will be no spaces left. Some felt the pool was cold, but I swim regularly and thought it was fine, perfect to have a proper swim than just a splash pool.

Not much else to add really - am I glad I went, yes. Would I recommended this hotel, yes. Would I go back - probably not, too many other places to see.

By the way Naples Airport coming home is a nightmare - held on our coach for 1hr 20 mins before being allowed in the building and then a manic dash to catch out plane on time. Never, ever travel to Italy in August - it seems the whole of Italy are on holiday on the Amalfi Coast or at the Aiport.

Room Tip: The main building has bigger rooms and better equipped but the Annexe is quieter.

Cannot think of enough superlatives! Amazing holiday! The food and themed nights are great. The staff make a huge effort to ensure you have all you need and go above and beyond. Yes, the entertainment is a bit repetitive but it did the job and they have good voices. I believe 'switch' leave at the end of this season anyhow. Nik the rep was fantastic!
Basically all the positive reviews are true. We wouldn't hesitate to return!

stayed here for 1 week at the end of july. great hotel, exceptional hotel staff. nik the Thomson rep is very helpful. they have a entertainment rep but did not see her during the day all week. she only came alive at night getting people up to dance.
did the Pompeii trip half day with thoms, great to have a guide to explain everything. we also did trip to capri and amalfi drive out by ourselves. very easy to do as local transport/ferries very frequent and inexpensive. would definitely go back.

Room Tip: annexe rooms seem bigger but need to take stroll for breakfast and dinner

We've just returned from an amazing honeymoon in Italy and staying at the Nastro Azzuro certainly made it for us. The staff were wonderful, the views were incredible and we had a marvellous time. We upgraded to the Occhio Marina, which was a bit further from the restaurant but closer to the pool. The food was lovely, buffet at lunch and waiter service for dinner. The shuttle service into town was easy to use and we enjoyed our trips into Sorrento itself. Overall I don't have a bad word to say about the hotel, my husband and I had a wonderful time and can't wait to go back.

Having visited this hotel on numerous occasions we had no doubt that once we had decided to get married in Sorrento this was the place to hold our party. As a large group of friends and family we spent a fantastic time at the hotel, the staff and management could not do enough for us, not only us, but all the visitors to the hotel. Having married in the Cloisters in Sorrento we the held our party in the Nastro Azurro. From start to finish it was fantastic. We dealt both direct with the hotel management and Thomsons. Everyone was happy to accommodate what we wanted, resulting in a very casual, relaxed event. As everyone has said before us the staff make this holiday experience one of the best. From the pool, restaurant, bar, housekeeping - everyone played their part. If you are looking for an away from it all holiday, great service, fantastic food and superb surroundings then please give it a try, I am sure you won't be disappointed.

This hotel ticks all the boxes, we had a brilliant time, The rooms, food , staff, reps, pool area as most people say are of the highest quality. The maître d Angelo made sure everyone was greeted as they entered the restaurant and we felt very special. Carmine again was always around ensuring everyone was happy. We will definitely be returning in the future. Also I must compliment the Thomson reps who were possibly the most helpful reps we have come across, they always seemed to be there if you wanted them, not very often I praise the reps but thanks. We went on a tour of Sorrento with Nick our rep which was very interesting and entertaining and im sure a lot of people found it useful if they went on the hotel bus as they would know where to go. The Amalfi tour and the Day tour to Capri were absolutely stunning and well worth doing. Thanks to all who made our stay so great
