This Hotel is just divine, great rooms in the heart of Modica Bassa. The location is excellent with in easy walking or crawling distance of local restaurants and bars. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful and a good hearty breakfast is available.
I have stayed here a few times now and always look forward to going back, its like a home away from home.

Room Tip: The Balcony room is a good choice but all the rooms are excellant

this boutique charming hotel is situated in the center of Modica,we just parked the car and walked to see the awesomet churches and the baroque palaces of the city.Next door there is the famous antica cioccolateria Bonaiuto where we bought the delicious Modican chocolate.
The breakfast was served with tipical modican products like chocolate, granita, almond sweets, and of course the continental regular breakfast.
The spa in the caves is awesome, the atmosphere is really relaxing like the massages we had.
The whole baroque palace of the hotel is an importnat example of Sicilian baroque, outside and inside, where the furniture is from 18th century, the lamps are in coloured cristal, and the floors painted by hand.
This hotel was an unique experience and made our vacation really unforgettable.

Room Tip: suite del vescovo is awesome.

The building is genuine Sicilian baroque in need of some restoring. The hotel occupies only part of it, on the first (noble) floor, with a grand lobby and 3 rooms opening on it. The other two rooms are around a corridor, each one with its distinctive aristocratic character and matching furniture, all authentic period. However, everything is designed bearing in mind the requirements of modern travellers comfort - bathrooms, air conditioning, spa and fitness room (on the ground floor, in very suggestive cellars, like the breakfast room).
The personnel is very kind and helpful - one of them even acted as our guide in the surroundings - the location is right in the heart of Modica, in the main street, which tends to be busy and noisy even at night, but keeping the windows shut and the AC on it can be mostly solved.
Very interesting breakfast particularly if you have a sweet tooth, and while you are breakfasting, you can observe the lit-up excavations under your feet, beyond the glass pane.
Our group of 9 took up the whole structure and all received very favourable impression. Recommendable
