We had booked an attic room - but when we arrived, we were offered a room with a terrace for an extra 5 euro a night. Quite a bargain! The terrace was on top of our room (reached by an external stairway) with pretty spectacular views. Probably the best 5 euro I've ever spent. And overall, the cost of our 3 day stay was still really low.
All the good reviews of this hotel are true. Suffice it to say that the hotel has a lot of good character, as does the owner. So this place is highly recommended.
One word of warning: DO NOT rely on google maps to get to this hotel! They're completely wrong - we spent almost two hours searching for this place, high above the actual location. It's not the hotel owner's fault at all (the map on Booking.com is much more accurate). In the end, we were so lost that a stranger took us in his car back to the town centre.
Actually, the hotel is just about in the centre of town: walk up Corso Umberto until you see the Intesa Bank, then walk up the stairs on the right - it's about 20 steps away.
Interesting fact: Luca Zingaretti (Inspector Montalbano!) has stayed here. I'm pretty sure he never got lost! And I imagine he enjoyed his stay.More
