“Great location in lovely Asolo”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 6 August 2014

We spent 3 nights in the Albergo Al Sole at the end of a 6 week trip in Italy. Asolo is a charming town and the hotel is perfect. The location of the hotel in the center of Asolo overlooking the piazza and the old town was perfect for visiting this town and the surrounding area. Our room was very comfortable with perfect views of the town and the restaurant, La Terrazza, was a lovely place to eat with excellent food. We had dinner there our first night, and then had lunch there several days as the view and food were so good. The breakfasts were also excellent and all of the front desk staff were very helpful planning places to visit in the area. We will definitely return to Asolo and to this hotel, great comfortable beds, lovely bathrooms, delicious food and great service, can't ask for much more!

Room Tip: Our room was on a corner with front views of the central piazza and a lovely villa and gardens on th...

I have stayed at the Albergo Al Sole on many occasions, initially on business trips and more recently for pleasure to enjoy paragliding in the local area. Every time the hotel, its environs and in particular, the staff, consistently deliver a "home away from home" atmosphere whilst being unobtrusive in the delivery. The hotel itself is a beautifully restored building just a few steps away from the very center of Asolo and whilst maintaing its historic charm, it has been tastefully upgraded to cater for business travelers and vacationers alike. Each room is different in layout, with their own features on offer making, for a more engaging experience than the usual fare. The hotel has its own private parking as an added convenience for guests. Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner are all prepared to a very high, yet unpretentious standard and the restaurant balcony makes a perfect venue to begin and end every day looking out on charming Asolo. Highly recommended!

Room Tip: Enquire about the rooms at the front of the hotel. Ask about rooms with a bath tub and a shower is t...

This is a review of the restaurant at Albergo Al Sole. La Terrazza is one of the highlights of visiting Asolo, known for its residents of Browning and Duse, and also for the many shops that make it a shopping delight for those seeking peace and quiet from Venice.

But the hidden gem is La Terrazza, where we ate with 8 friends on a July afternoon. Out on the terrace shielded from the sun but not the view, we had one of the best lunches of our 10 day tour. Starting with zucchini flowers lightly battered and quickly flash fried a la tempura, to mouth watering risotto with fresh seasonal peas, to an elegant but light desert. Yes, we negotiated this menu with management before our guests arrived, but even from the daily menu you will not be disappointed. Above all, say hello to Elena, and her sister, who have carried on and enhanced an experience not to be missed.

Room Tip: Several different sized rooms. If you want a view, fine, if you want a quiet window of green, fine...

To step foot into the charming medieval village of Asolo is to step back in time. But never fear. All modern comforts and concerns are catered for at the marvellous Albergo Al Sole. From the moment we arrived we felt welcome. Friendly smiling faces at the front desk and a pleasant lounge area to sit and relax in the foyer. A fireplace would no doubt offer warmth on a winter's day. But we arrived in May, with gardens full of bloom and just enough warmth in the air to encourage walks and exploring in the area. There is a great deal to see.
Our room overlooked a splendid villa, now apartments with a beautiful garden. From the hotel's first floor terrace we enjoyed pre-dinner drinks or afternoon tea and a wonderful view of the town. Cobblestones, excellent restaurants, quaint shopping lanes and a lovely walk up behind the hotel to a ruined castle with panoramic views await your stay in Asolo.
Our dinners at the hotel restaurant, La Terrazza, were outstanding and the wines superb. Service and food very, very good. The bar offers all you could ask for and the breakfast spread very good also.
Apart from our room, with excellent bathroom and storage it was the ambience of the hotel that really made our stay a pleasure. Must not forget the lovely touch of flowers in unexpected places.

Room Tip: Overlooking the village or the garden next door although check their website for other rooms with ch...

We stayed at Albergo Al Sole for two nights. The hotel has a picturesque location. The lobby is beautifully decorated and is warm and welcoming as are all the staff. The restaurant was wonderful. We had dinner out on the balcony overlooking magical Asolo. The food and service could not have been better. The breakfasts were also beautifully presented and you certainly did not leave hungry.
We were traveling with our adult son so we were able to see both a single and double room. His single, looking out on the side street left a lot to be desired for the price paid. We started in one room and fortunately were moved to another as my husband is 6'5 and with the footboard could not have comfortably slept in the bed.
We found the hotel, staff and food to be exceptional but felt the rooms for the price, very disappointing.

My wife and I booked Albergo Al Sole in Asolo after spending a week in Venice. We were looking for a change of pace after enjoying all the activity that encompasses Venice. We rented a car and drove to Asolo and our previously booked room at Albergo Al Sole. The hotel has an attached car park that provides sufficient parking space. The hotel is located on the crest of a hill overlooking the very attractive village of Asolo, which one can take in from the hotel's outdoor balcony. Two sisters own and manage the hotel, and they both do a wonderful job. The hotel is well organized, and the staff friendly and efficient. The hotel has an outstanding restaurant that provided impressive cuisine. After a day of touring the area by car, it was a pleasure to return to Asolo and the hotel for cocktails and a delicious dinner. We certainly would look forward to another stay at the Hotel Albergo Al Sole.

One of the co-owners and acting General Manager met us upon arrival. The greeting was personal warm and authentic. The staff was top not and very accommodating and pro-active in meeting our needs. Every staff member we came in contact with, was warm, hospitable and cared about answering questions or meeting a request. I have travelled to a lot of places but can say this hotel simply blew me away. The rooms are very well appointed and decorated in a style that compliments it's location. This small but large in heart in warmth property has everything you can think of. The attended breakfast buffet was elegant, well appointed and the views from the terrace overlooking the town and local village breathtaking. This is a true gem tucked into a hillside of Asola! My hats off to the ownership for their care, love and devotion that shines in every corner of this 5 star gem!
