This very friendly, small hotel is a short walk (past a lovely church and other historical buildings) from the main center. Like the structure of the hotel, our room was basic but very comfortable with a wonderful balcony overlooking the fjord. We put it to good use. From there, we could see the well groomed lawn and lakeside sitting area that is reserved for hotel guests. Unni Marie offered water shoes (the steps into the water are a bit slippery) and thick white towels. Next time, we will take a dip.
Unni-Marie and Eric are gracious, helpful hosts who want to make sure you enjoy your stay. They are a great source of information on what to do in the area, which besides the beautiful fjord, offers really nice, well marked hiking. Laundry can be done upon request. The breakfast buffet was fresh, plentiful and of high quality. There are a number of restaurants for dinner only a short walk away. We had a very special meal at Kviknes Hotel (which also has a very well stocked shop for Norwegian gifts).
We definitely enjoyed our stay here.More
