My wife and I ordered a room late in the afternoon by phone, and did not have special expectations when we arrived Lærdalsøyri. We was offered a full (very tiny) house (Øyragata 30) in the middle of the old town for NOK 1100,- / night. Two stories, with living room, kitchen and bathroom on ground floor and two bedrooms upstairs. For us, bringing our own food in the car, this was an excellent way of getting to know the old town and the buildings here. The house is well equipped with fridge, stove and micro wave , washing machine for clothes and what you else need. The bathroom was modern and very clean.Nice beds, and free WiFi is included.
No meals was offered, but the grocery store is not far away. Some meters down the street there is a nice pub/restaurant serving good traditional food in the back yard (and inside). Parking must be away from the house, as the street is a pedestrian area. But you are allowed to drive to the house to take out your luggage.
We will recommend this house for couples and families with children who wants to try to live in a traditional house in this very charming and quiet street of old Lærdalsøyri.
