We staryed at Sanden Pensjonat while driving from Oslo to Bergen in Aug '13. This is my second visit to the hotel. The last time I was here was in 2006. Very little seems to have changed in terms of rooms except that WIFI is available.
The hotel has limited options for food and the complimentary breakfast is very basic.
Overall the hotel gives a warm feeling of being in a small Kommune where you spend more time to yourself and with family.
The toilets need to be cleaner though.
- Official Description (provided by the hotel):
- Sanden pensjonat has been an inn and pension since 1897 and is situated in the centre of Lardalsoyri by the Sognefjord. The building from the 1840s is newly renovated, with a lot of original features intact. The rooms are furnished with antiques and modern art from the owners collection. The family run pension is on the historic main street of the preservation area of Lardalsoyri. The area has 161 wooden houses from the 19th century and a lot of small, well kept gardens. The pension, which is open all year, now has three guest rooms with private bathrooms and four that share one in the hallway. On the ground floor we have a breakfast room and reception. The pension is strictly non-smoking. If you bring your own computer you can log on to our free wireless internet. ... more less
