I stayed here for 3 nights, one night in a private and two in a dorm room. Check in was simple and the staff were friendly and attentive. They were able to answer any of my questions and provide recommendations for food in Voss.

The private room was good, clean and tidy. No issues there.

The Dorm rooms were the same. The only thing that let this room down was the lack of shower curtain, which meant everything got soaked. I had the dorm to myself until 23:00 hours when two males burst through the door and turned all the lights on, showered, chatted loudly and left the lights on when they went to bed. Generally they were both very disrespectful considering I was sleeping, and to top it off their alarms then went off at 6AM as they were going on a trek that day. Cheesed off doesn't cut it! Luckily they left and never returned, so the second night I again had the dorm to myself. I know that some dorms are like this, and hopefully, the staff advised them, to be quiet before they entered the dorm - who knows. This put a slight dampener on the stay.

Food wise - The breakfast was included and was great. Loads of food and variation. Can't complain about this. The view from the breakfast balcony over the lake was also a great start to the morning.

Overall not a bad stay, just damaged by some rude guests.

Stayed here with a group of friends before a sea kayaking trip to the fjords. Room was large and clean with plenty of plug sockets and an en suite bathroom. Plenty of common areas and a great view of the lake and only a 10 min scenic walk into town. Best thing about it was the breakfast, an epic repast of Scandie goodies. Smoked fish, many kinds of herring, organic fruit and veg, yoghurt, juice, coffee, rye bread, pastries......it went on and on and was delicious and frequently replenished. A boon for the budget traveller...

I loved this hostel. It is really cute and cozy, the lounging areas are so comfortable with a fireplace, pool table, blankets, (and TV if you need that). They have a nice outdoor area with picnic tables, bikes, and I think even canoes/kayaks (not exactly sure). The rooms were also cute, and the waterfront view is beautiful. You have control of the temperature and there were outlets near the bed. Lots of cubby spaces and a nice ensuite. The shower and toilet are just a single room without divider, so be sure to remove the toilet paper before showering :). I slept in the single bed and it was so comfortable, and the pillow was really nice too (linens are included). The included breakfast was DELICIOUS and had so many options; fresh fruit, yogurts, salad, veggies, granola, musely, peanut butter, nutella, jam, a variety of fish, hard boiled eggs, toast, gluten free & organic options. It was excellent! The hostel is just a few minutes walk from the train station and town center. The staff is very warm & welcoming. The woman at the reception in the evening had great recomendations for dinner. Lillian at reception in the morning was so lovely to talk with, we chatted for a while, and she also had many recommendations for places to visit in Oslo, Bergen, or Voss. I wish I could spend my entire trip at this hostel!

Comfortable beds, good shower, great view, tasty breakfast, good service, convenient location . This was great value in a very expensive town. Lovely walk along the lake to get there. A good option even for a couple

Room tip: Lake view is good

For a hostel this place is clean and very friendly with the most amazing food all sourced locally, the breakfast is plentiful with a good variety with fresh breads, meats , cheeses, any many other items, well worth the trip and will definitely be coming back
