“Old fish restaurant”
Reviewed 18 October 2012

This was a recommended fish restaurant and it was just that. Lovely atmosphere with a section with long benches. Fresh fish, definitely, but a little expensive. The basque wines were good.

“Great fish, family style atmosphere, good service”
Reviewed 30 September 2012

Nothing special to look at from outside, but lively and friendly inside.

Great fish, mainly hake or monkfish dishes, obviously very fresh.

Terrific threesome of ladies waiting tables; hectic pace in a full restaurant , but still managed very pleasant service.

Probably worth making a reservation here. They had two areas; one for those with a reservation and a sort of bench seating arrangement for those who didn't. Worked fine for us though.

All in all a really good dinner, money well spent.

“Food was above avg but not for price”
Reviewed 15 April 2012

Unfortunately no Menu was available when we visited (for those new to this concept it is an offering of 3 or 5 courses, incl. bread and table wine or water in Spain) so we spent 75EUR for two Sopa de Pescados (fish soup), which was very good, and two fish dishes. One fish was very good and the other (Pulpo - yes, I know, not a fish) was small in quantity and overcooked. This with the cheapest bottle of wine (13UR) put it just 8 EUR cheaper than our excellent meal in San Sebastian [Urbano Restaurante] so I have to give it an overall avg score. I would imagine I would rate it higher if I had been able to get the Menu pricing and enjoyed the Soup as part of my meal price.

“Authentic and traditional”
Reviewed 28 January 2011

This restaurant should be in Position No. 1 in Hondarribia!
Certainly for those who enjoy seafood and regional cuisine. We ended up there on a recommendation from a local shopkeeper and had one of the best meals of our short trip to the region. Not dirt cheap ut good solid value for money.

A real fishermen's restaurant. Informal, friendly (ask of fantastic Begoña) great food.
I reccommend this place for a REAL Basque fish dinner.
Try the artichokes with clams!
