As many others we followed the advice of other reviewers and walked to the other end of Hondarribia to have dinner at this restaurant. Our expectations were very high!
The restaurant looked very nice and the atmosphere and interior were pleasant even though we were among the first guests.
As starter we ordered Panache de verduras. It was a great disappointment. Little had we expected a huge plate full of overcooked vegetables with very little flavour.
For main course my wife had ordered Solomillo Idiazabal; Beef sirloin with cheese sauce, fried potatoes, Gernika peppers and Idiazabal chips. The meat was very ordinary, the sauce did not have much taste and all in all it wasn't very interesting.
I ordered the slowcooked beef cheeks. I was also disappointed since they did not taste much at all.
We were also offered different small treats inbetween the courses, and some of these were very good. But still, we had expected so much more from this restaurant. This was the most expensive meal during our week in Spain, but definitely not the best.
