A pretty hairy ride up a narrow road, not to mention the return trip! I didn't really enjoy the experience to be honest, although the views were splendid but I wasn't sure I wanted to get out of the car!

Enjoyed a mostly shaded walk to the top for some great views and a drink. Enjoyed going into the small church

The monastery offers amazing views over the surrounding countryside and is accessible from the road which runs between Porto Colom and Felanitx.

The road up had several hairpin bends and is good practice for the journey to Soller from the northern end of the mountains.

Once parked at the top of San Salvador, you approach the giant statue of Christ which towers over the eastern side of the car park. There are two walkways around the statue at different levels which offer spectacular views of the surrounding landscape. After seeing the statue, visit San Salvador monastery where you will pass the low lying picnic areas which lie on either side of the car parking facilities. The area around the buildings is parkland maintained by the Majorcan government. The picnic areas are well equipped with picnic benches and stone built barbecues for visitors to use.

As other reviewers have commented the monastery offers some peace and tranquility at the height of summer. Well worth a visit for the views alone.

Quite hair-raising getting to the monastery but worth it. The market we went to afterwards was good.

Amazing views which are well worth the scary road on the way up! Really nice to be able to walk around the monastery without having to pay!! Fantastic
