We have visited Mallorca for 12 years and received so many recommendations for this restaurant so with our daughter a little older now, we booked for lunch with great anticipation. Disappointingly things got off to a bad start straight away- no- one around to meet and greet so we wandered through the crowded restaurant before coming across a harassed waiter who eventually found a colleague to show us to a table. Our table had a great view but we were squashed in like sardines on the terrace. Service was chaotic and disorganised with no attention to detail. Menus were printed on a dirty old piece of A4 paper which looked like it had been previously screwed up and flattened out. Despite all this, The biggest negative was the terrible food. Overpowering seafood sauce with prawns masquerading as langoustines, basic battered cod with an under boiled single potato and mushy veg accompanied by a truly awful piquant pepper sauce. Wine list was quite good but overall this was a really poor dining experience and one we won't be repeating. We've dined at Trespais in the port this holiday and it beats Villa Italia hands down in every area.
