“Poor location and service”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 23 July 2013

According to some reviews, the walk into town is a nice stroll along the harbour. It's not.

The hotel is located on the "wrong" side of the harbour and the walk is approximately 15 minutes before the centre of Puerto Andratx begins. Then you'll have to walk for another 10-15 minutes before you arrive at the nicer restaurants... The location is in a residential area and no shops or restaurants nearby is worth mentioning (expect the italian Restaurante fairly far away....)

Some of the staff in the restaurant was rather rude and the dinner was poor. The receptionist was, however, very kind and helpful.

We got a room a the sister hotel Mon Fort. Not an apartment as booked through booking.com. It was, however, a nice hotel room. The Mon Fort seems to be at a higher level and the pool area was much more classy. Also, the service in the pool restaurant was quite good.

We stayed at this Hotel in June 13,
The accommodation is excellent, staff very efficient, facilities very good.
Only issue was a bit noisy around the pool, if you need to be quiet it is best to ask for a room away from the pool.

We arrived to a friendly greeting and were taken by the guy on reception to our room. We were in a room overlooking the pool and it was very well decorated with a small kitchen and balcony. My only complaint about the whole stay was the sound of the pool filter running as it drove me crazy. The restaurant was of excellent standard with a choice from a different menu each evening, typical breakfast with both cooked food and continental choices. We were spoken to in German frequently during our stay here by the waiting staff who soon changed to English when they realised.
The walk in to town was pleasant enough and we visited some lovely places around the area. We usually stay in Puerto Pollensa a couple of times a year but I think this is definitely going to be somewhere we come back to on a regular basis.

Room Tip: It is a quiet hotel but the rooms away from the pool area will be quieter if that's what you lik...

We have just returned from the most perfect holiday..I'm almost tempted to give it a bad review so that no-one finds this little pot of gold...
The staff, from reception to housekeeping are friendly and helpful..the setting is gorgeous..didn't miss having a beach to look at, but I'm not a sand sort of person..we had a great view of the harbour from room 304, superior apartment. The apartment has everything you need, dining area, double bedroom, little kitchen area and fridge. I would have liked that some water was provided when you arrived as the nearest shop is a 10-15 min walk away..you can buy it from reception, but it was nearly 3 euros...in fact make sure you have the basics like water, sachets of coffee/tea etc. for when you first arrive..
The cleanliness of the hotel is some of the best I've seen, and the maids worked very hard and weren't intrusive at all
I'd take a back pack away with you, so that if you do get some shopping from Euroski supermarket, you can carry it easily back, alternatively there are plenty of taxis outside the supermarket, and back to the hotel cost 4 euros..so you don't have to ask where it is, walk to the bottom of the road that the hotel is on, turn left, cross over and take a short cut thru a little children's park, turn left, take a stroll thru the marina (Club Vela), keep walking til you come to a wooden bridge and the majority of the shops are on your left, including a MASSIVE selection of restraurants..this is not a seaside town, so the shops are quite exclusive and clothes etc quite expensive..but very pleasant to wander round..I don't want buckets & spades!!
We didn't eat out, because we were half board, and the food at La Pergola was lovely..talking of which...breakfast is served from 8am to 10.30am...great selection, usual meats, cheeses, cereals, bread, jams and a selection of cooked food..bacon (not English style), eggs, fried or scrambled, sausages (missed English style :() and unfortunately the mushrooms seemed to be cooked in garlic(?)..lots of juices, yogurts, and coffee is served by the great staff, Adrian, Xhisco, Dario etc..you don't get a set table, but can choose, and we had plenty of choice, although I believe it gets busier later in the season..Evening meals, self serve buffet for starters/dessert but choose from a la carte menu for main..If you want extra vegetables, just ask otherwise you just get meat and maybe boiled potatoes..chips are NOT standard, thank goodness..the lunch time snack menu is good, but to be honest too much in terms of food, we were stuffed, so usually just had brie, ham and baguettes for lunch..perfect on the balcony..
Night life..if you wander down the harbour it is relaxed and lovely, non at the hotel..no bingo, no line dancing YAH!!! We walked up to the sister hotel, Mon Port to have evening drinks..apparently you can use their facilities, but on asking it wasn't very clear what we could use, so didn't..
The pool area is great, I was guilty of putting a towel out, but only because I wanted to be away from the pool and the kids (!)..there were a few that were noisy, and that's ok, cos they on holiday too, but it did get a little loud sometimes..I felt that children got a little bored as there is not a lot for them to do and the beaches are car rides away and the man on reception said that it gets louder as the season goes on...
We asked to look at a couple of other rooms/villas at both La pergola and was very impressed...
I would return to La Pergola, it is a gorgeous hotel in a lovely setting with lovely staff....

Room Tip: room 304 is great for view of harbour...

We have just returned from a two week stay at La Pergola and had a great time. We have a 3 year old and a 1 year old so stayed in a two bed-roomed apartment. For us, it was the perfect mix of the space of an apartment with the benefits of a hotel, in that our beds were made every morning, apartment cleaned and new towels provided. We went on an accommodation only basis but after the first few days we found that the breakfast provided in the hotel was a treat so would definitely go on a B and B basis the next time.

The hotel is a good base but I would say that if you have children and/or like to get to the beach, then you will need a car or will have to use the bus. We are familiar with the area so knew before we stayed there. The Port is stunning and has many lovely places to eat or simply have coffee.

The staff in the hotel were mostly very helpful and pleasant. Some of the reception staff were not so nice and we did find it strange that in a 4 star hotel, you have to pay to have your pool towels changed.

We had family arrive a few days into our stay and they had booked an hotel room on a B and B basis. Unfortunately they were offered a number of rooms before they got one that they were happy with. The problem is that there seem to be a number of rooms with a very poor outlook or balcony space. I would suggest that you book directly with the hotel rather than through a travel company as then you can request a room with a decent balcony and view.

We would definitely stay in this hotel again and would recommend it to other families who want the luxury of a hotel experience without all of you having to stay in one room. It does work out more expensive to do it that way, but for us, it was money well spent.

A great little find in a beautiful location!

Room Tip: Apartment 306 has great views over the Port. Book through the hotel directly and request a room with...

I stayed here on m own for only a week and booked an apartment room and found all the staff to be helpful, friendly and welcoming, the price I paid was very reasonable and I noted that the hotel is ideal for families and has a nice little restaurant which does nice meals.
All round a good deal.

We have stayed here on two previous occasions and i don't think that this will be the last time either. The staff are always kind and courteous and all seem to speak at least three languages. The accommodation is to a good standard and always very clean and well maintained. The food at the restaurant is also to a very high standard and i would recommend going on a half board basis as i do not think that you will be disappointed a varied selection is always on offer both for breakfast and dinner, lunch was on offer at the sister hotel the mon port if you required at the time of writing it may change later in the season when they are busier.
The sister hotel the mon port is also available if you require the use of a gym, spar or indoor heated swimming pool with jacuzzi some of which are fee of charge, but the gym laminated floor is in need of replacement as its coming apart at the joints and a few new light bulbs wouldn't go amiss.
Overall if you have booked here you will not be disappointed i feel .
You would be best to get a car at the airport and drive in as a taxi will be £60 each way its an easy route and it will give you the opportunity to explore the island(no beach in Andratx). The port is very pretty and there are numerous quality restaurants

Room Tip: some rooms overlook the pool some have evening sunshine others are rear facing the sister hotel its...
