On the last of our family holiday in Pollenca we decided to go to Port d'Andratx and had a walk around and lunch.Much nicer than walking around Palma with a 2yr old.Brismar restaurant in the shade made us very welcome and we all had a delicious lunch (Thai curry with monkfish and seabass baked in salt) even the childs menu was very good and the waiter gave him a fish net.So thank you Brismar for making our last day!

Have just returned from a very relaxing one week stay. The hotel is perfectly located, directly opposite the bay and marina. Our room was spacious and being on the third floor our balcony had the sun all afternoon. The staff were very helpful and always polite and cheerful. Breakfast was very relaxed and there was plenty of choice. All in all it was a relaxing week away.

Room Tip: Book a room with a sea view to get full benefit of the bay. Rooms on the third floor get the sun al...

I had a week on my own and had a great time staff are very helpfully and the food in the harbour side restaurant is out standing probably near to the best in the port, but I obviously did not eat in all of them.
It's very clear that due to the clients here money is no object all the seafood brought ashore gets sold huge king prawns, langoustine and fabulous lobsters.
The place is buzzing from first thing and to early hours particular when a group of young people arrived last Friday and were diterment to turn this lovely quaint village into Magaluf!!!
Hotel is typically Spanish and has aged well rooms have recently been decorated and the bath rooms renewed, place is very clean and very good value with this beautifully view over the harbour with lots of splendid boats.
No doubt will return some time in the future will write more reports about my other dinning experiences.

We have friends with a boat in the marina so decided to visit them for a couple days. They recommended the brisamar and we were not dissapointed. Location is superb overlooking the bars and marina on the front line, it has it's own little car park which is free. Rooms are big if somewhat dated and basic (some have been renovated). Beds are large doubles, other than that very little in way of room facilities - no coffee maker etc. The lift is tiny and somewhat reminiscent of the movie thoroughly modern Millie. It doesn't quite park parallel to the second floor, and hits the ground floor with a bounce and occasionally gets stuck on a floor.

Positives - location, cleanliness, room size, price and the reception and bar staff are great. veranda and bar area excellent
Negatives - fairly basic rooms, car park can get full and street parking is hard to find, breakfast arrangements are a bit haphazard - running out of coffee etc. rooms have very little soundproofing between them

All in all a great budget hotel

I arrived very early to the hotel and checked in without any delay and went to my room - clean if a little old fashioned. My short break was very relaxing and enjoyable. The staff couldn't have been more helpful, the hotel clean and bright, breakfast plentiful and varied. The food in the restaurant was excellent. I would highly recommend the hotel and will certainly revisit.

When I looked at the favorable reviews I was absolutely astonished and angry at my experience. Was as follows :-

1/ Reception area cordoned off with floor tape as floor had sunk, in the dining room the floor had also sunk.

2/ Lift had room for one person only with case.

3/. A) Bedroom - chest of drawer handle broken and I never unpacked my case. Sheets stained.
B) Steep step from room onto balcony dangerous as railings too low and width of balcony room only for one chair
C) Noisy main street and noisy bottles being delivered at store below.
4/ Breakfast the same for 7 days with no choice, only cold heap of scrambled eggs and cold bacon.
5/ Cockroaches in dining room and in bread basket. Also swarming with them on floor of terrace dining room area and up steps to Hotel.

Staff were very pleasant and I felt sorry for them working in these conditions. God only knows what the kitchen was like.
Would never stay there again. Would never recommend. Worst hotel I have ever stayed in.

Room Tip: Do not stay in hotel.

Back to the Hotel Brismar yet again this year - June and August. We have been going to the Brismar now for 25years - we just love it here. The hotel was re-vamped last year and they now have air-conditioning making it so much more confortable in the rooms. Althopugh this is not the most luxurious hotel on the island it is certaintly the best placed - right on the front line with the most fabulous restaurants all around. The view is amazing!. The breakfast is basic but fine - all self-service. The restaurant is good - the prices for the al a carte have risen quite a lot this year though. But do not let this put you off.

Room Tip: Choose a room on the front if available - just for the views alone. Quieter rooms at the back of th...
