“Food was outstanding”
Reviewed 6 October 2013

Only did restaurant. Agree with some of the earlier comments with regard limited menu, but wow, our meals, so good we returned, were outstanding. Blue fin tuna with wasabi was amazing. Perhaps they have a new chef, don't know, but whilst the prices are a little strong we thought it was good value. Location was terrific and we found the staff to be attentive, polite, and efficient. We will visit next time.

Stayed at the Brismar for 4 nights and was very pleased. Lovely hotel right on the seafront with a very spacious terrace and a pontoon to sit and watch the sun go down. Staff were all very helpful and cheerful and ager to help, with a good breakfast, Did not eat in the restaurant but the food that was served looked really good.

Room Tip: Ask for a seav view, although I think these are a little bit more expensive, but well worth it.

Have stayed at Brismar many time. Dated and basic but we love it particularly the stunning location. Recently we tried the sea front restaurant and sat on the jetty. Again wonderful view! However what a disappointment! Menu was limited, expensive and service was awful. It took over an hour for the food to arrive which was not worth the wait. Will not eat there again but will stay at the hotel for bed and breakfast only.

Lovely hotel, right on marine front, with seaside deck for dinning in the sun or sunset. Fabulously dated, and very clean and well run. Cosy and full of nostalgia. Perfectly located for enjoying the marine comings and goings of the super yachts and the local fishing fleet.

Room Tip: Request room overlooking marina and watch the antics, it is a great location to watch the world go b...

17th August arrived to table earlier booked on pontoon.
Two G @T's later discovered at 9€ each!
Sea bass in salt was small accompanied by a cup of melon balls for 22€.
Over pretentious and expensive.
The vista was perfect, and the staff attentive but frankly the Management are taking the Michael.

Port d'Andratx is a beautiful resort. It consists almost exclusively of a harbour, with a vast array of boats ranging from small fishing boats to multi million pound luxury yachts. The layout is similar in many ways to Monaco but without the road. The town is built into the hillside, and the harbour area is a succession of (similar ) restaurants, priced considerably higher than surrounding Majorca resorts. However they are all busy in the evenings when the town comes to life.
There are very few noticable hotels, probably only about 4 exist in the resort and The Brismar was the only one that I saw on the seafront. I would imagine that most of the people that stay in this resort have boats. There is no beach to speak of, just a small corner of sand that is pretty dirty, not in keeping with the spotless town at all. For a traditional beach you would need a short bus or taxi (6 euro) ride.
The Brismar was a basic hotel, no pool , a small bar and a reasonable continental breakfast. Staying there was basically booking a room as a base. I was unlucky enough to have one of the rooms with no balcony, neither were there fridge or drink making facilities which I thought might have helped. The room however was fine and cleaned daily. Staff I found to be helpful and pleasant.
Not my kind of place if I'm honest, as it was advertised as being opposite the beach and that was the selling point for me, the beach ,as I've said was not really habitable and only used as a place to exercise dogs.
The resort though was delightful, if a little pricey.

Before going to Mallorca we read great reviews of this hotel here on Tripadvisor. The hotel itself is not disappointing. We had a room at the back with a view to the parking lot, which was expected and thus not disappointing. We opted for that since the seaside is headed south west and the balcony’s on that side are useless in early evening, when it’s hot in summer time before the sun has set (we never saw any one sitting there during two weeks). The room, bed, hotel service, maintenance was that of a three star hotel so again satisfied. Safety in the hotel was really substandard with no safety deposit box, handling of keys, locks, sprinklers, very few alarms etc...

The balcony/restaurant/bar in front of the hotel is an excellent spot for having a glass of wine late in the evening. At least it would be if there had been any service. To get anything you have to go to the bar yourself and wait or tell the reception that you want service. When you do that they act offended because you came. We tried it several evenings but always the same…

The Restaurant has very good food. It is overpriced though (except for the steak with foie gras which is excellent and worth every cent). The service is very slow and substandard. I reserved a table on the outer corner of the jetty and when we got there we were informed that it had been given to another couple who came before us (we were not late). Once is forgivable we thought and reserved it the next day. Same thing again. Even though we were offended we reserved that table four days later. Same thing yet again… Reading all reviews before coming I asked if they had changed manager and they had. Food is good but overpriced and do not count on getting a table here just because you reserved it…
