“Old Traditional Hotel”
Reviewed 13 July 2014

Stopped at the old Family run hotel a few times, the reason my wife andI revisit this hotel is that we always feel rested after a few days here.

The hotel has a feel of the 50's and 60's and many of the guest seem to have been returning for over 30 years, the staff are very helpful and many speak 2 or 3 languages. Breakfast is a good buffet selection and I would say end and breakfast is the best option at the Brisma. I would always try to book a room at the front of the hotel with a sea view unless you are on a budget then a room at the rear could save you about 10 to 15 euro per night. The hotel does not have a pool buy as it's only 10 metres from the sea this is not a problem

Times bar is next door and can be quite lively until about 1am, there are some great Fish restaurants near by and a few years ago the King of Spain was said to visit them.

Room Tip: Try to choose a room at the front of the hotel overlooking the bay and as you look at the hotel from...

We stayed here in June 14 for a local birthday party and boys trip.

Yes the rooms are fairly basic but very clean with lots of hot water.Quaint decor for the public areas but very clean & tidy.

Car Park just off the front. Great buffet breakfast, good bar and excellent evening restaurant by the sea. Great location handy for boat hire, shops and dozens of restaurants.

Good friendly staff and a reasonable bill at the end of it!
Worth a visit!

Room Tip: Try for a sea facing room - lovely views!

The only good thing is the location, just in the right place in the port. Good view from some rooms.
The hotel is old, quite decadent. It needs a serious change, reprinting and refurbish.
Overprice and I would say no more than 2 stars.
It is clean, and staff is quite friendly.
TV had only German channels, 2 Spanish, 1 English.
Elevator is so old...better to use the stairs!

Room Tip: Buy a cheaper room, and ask for the 2nd on the side. You will have a very good side view Of the sea...

We visit Andratx regularly by boat and this is one of our favourites. We don't stay in the hotel so can't comment on that, but we have eaten in the restaurant several times. The views are incredible, the waiters charming and the food delicious. Our only disappointment was that the menu had changed from last year, and sadly the scallops didn't make the cut for 2014, which was sad as the whole family had been looking forward to them. Otherwise, we definitely recommend Brismar for dinner!

The good points:

Great location
Free wifi which can be used in the rooms
Rooms very clean
Staff very friendly
View from our room over the harbour was fantastic

The not so good points:

No safe in room, safe box is available in reception for €5 a day.
Hotel Parking €5 a day.
No tea making facilities in the room.
Walls are thin and you hear every noise from a joining rooms.
Rooms smaller than expected, specially the bath room.
TV is a small 14" CRT and has no English channels.
No clock in the room.
The hotel is looking tried and could do with a major refurb.
The towels would give sand paper a good run for their money.

Useful points:

No air dryer in room but ask reception and they will give you one.
Go for a room at the front as the back rooms overlook the car park.
The front rooms do tend to be a bit noisier as they are above the street but they get the sun on the balcony in the late afternoon and the view is fantastic.

Million dollar question:

Would I stay here again? Yes, I enjoyed my stay.

I have stayed at this hotel before, thought it was a nice and friendly hotel, but didn't get the same service again! The very same people but the welcome I got was incredibly rude and totally uninviting. The morning alarm was the bins being emptied at 3am both mornings, and this is something you can not sleep through. The bed was very uncomfortable to add insult to injury. They have spent money on refurbishing the place, the money should have gone in to new beds.

Room Tip: Location great

I have just read the bad review from Sydney Australia and I can only disagree. We stayed
at the Brismar Hotel in July 2013 and it was great. The location is perfect, the breakfasts were
European standard, the hotel was clean and as this is an old hotel it is understandable that
the lift is small but then this is Europe. The rooms do need renovating but they are closed
this winter in order to do this. Whatsmore, you are able to use the jetty for suntaning and
don't have to drive 20 minutes to the nearest beach. The Brismar is value for money and I
can recommend it as a good three and a half star hotel. If more luxury is required then there
is a 5 star plus hotel 5 minutes away from the Brismar
