You could not wish for a better welcome from Brian & Lorraine !
The rooms are clean, well maintained and more than adequate, All the staff are helpful and the breakfasts are more than enough for choice and all local produce.
The car parking is all offroad and we've never experienced any problems with parking in 5/6 years of going there. The views are great and surrounding areas wonderful for walkers and cyclists. For those who wish alternatives the area has so many attractions from beaches to country exploration.
My only constructive suggestion to Brian was the adjustment of some of the door closures to prevent guests from banging them on exit/entry.
You would be hard pressed to find as good a small hotel as this.
Eating out is good pub grub or fish restaurant in Exmouth, Puffing Billy in Exton.
We look forward to our next visit this October.

I recently stayed at The Long Range Hotel and found the rooms to be spacious and very clean. Breakfast is good.
My only complaints are minor but it's the small things that keep guests happy.
Only one packet of biscuits on tea tray - these were never replenished. Bare minimum of tea and cofee - no hot chocolate sachets. Maybe we only had to ask but why should we??
Waste bin was not emptied one day - maybe just an oversite.
Once shampoo sachet used , again it was not replenished.
Overall the hotel is fine.

We have recently spent 6 nights at The Long Range hotel and cannot speak too highly of our stay. The owners Lorraine and Brian were very welcoming and hospitable. Our bedroom was spacious and very well furnished with lovely views towards the coast. A first class breakfast was served in the light and airy dining room overlooking a lovely garden. There was an excellent standard of cleanliness throughout the hotel. It is in a good location, just a short walk to the beach and town. We couldn't ask for more. The perfect place to stay for a happy relaxing break. We shall look forward to our next visit.

We are regular guests at this charming Hotel and feel that Brian and Lorraine have become friends, nothing is too muc h trouble , the bedrooms are spacious and very comfortable. The ample parking makes it very accessible.
We have brought quite a few of our friends and all have agreed they had an excellent stay.

This was the latest (but definitely not the last!) of many stays at The Long Range.  As always everything was excellent, from the standard of the bedroom and communal rooms, the level of cleanliness throughout the hotel (everything absolutely spotless), to the friendliness of the hosts, Brian and Lorraine.  With afternoon tea and/or drinks in the conservatory/lounge or garden;  and as for Lorraine's  breakfasts ..... wonderful!  Nothing is ever too much trouble and Brian is always happy to suggest things to do and places to visit in the area and recommend local eateries.  We will certainly be returning - hopefully on many occasions.  Excellent hotel, whether staying for business (husband first stayed here when on business in the area) or leisure, you will be hard pushed to find anything better.

As with previous visits, we received a very warm welcome and felt that we were special. The room was bright and cheerful with a good view across the Otter Valley. Binoculars provided in the room to take advantage of this.
Breakfast was freshly cooked by our host and was substantial enough to allow for a late lunch !
Hotel is ideal for bird and wild-life lovers, being a 10 minute walk from the Otter Estuary.
Budleigh Salterton has a very pleasant beach and interesting shops.
