“Great but too expensive”
Reviewed 5 May 2014

Well worth finding as this museum is somewhat "hidden" in Gosport. an interesting hour or so...Good book shop and a cuppa sat overlooking the sea was great too.....but regret not worth a tenner.

Very helpful staff

“Well worth a visit”
Reviewed 30 April 2014

Travel back in time to see the devlopment of all things exlposive (Navy style). A fantastic overview of how the Navy stored explosives dating back to the late 1800s. A marvellous trip through time with displays of weapons as vairied as flintlock pistols to missiles. The museum is well set out with various interactive stations dotted around enabling you to better understand how it all works. The cafe has a wonderfull view of the historic docklands over the water (another must see attraction). If you are in the forces then ask for Military discount (20% off addmission). We came away with a new found respect for everyone who worked in the industry.

“WONDERFUL NAVAL HISTORY”
Reviewed 16 April 2014

The museum is a bit tucked away from the main street in Gosport. It is in the old gun powder factory and the building and those surrounding it very interesting. Inside the museum are displays on weapons used by the Royal Navy over the centuries from cannon through to the Polaris missile. It is all very well laid out and some displays are interactive. There is much technical detail and the displays have good comprehensive explanations. There is a cafeteria for light refreshments .A must for anyone interested in naval history and its associated technology. incidentally as the museum is on the waterfront it has a good vista across the water towards Portsmouth Dockyard with views of any warships that might be in port.
