Called here on the way back from visiting daughter, and this was the first time in 12 years we've been there.. and, it hasn't changed! Prices have gone up, but its still very reasonable, Food is great - a fantastic home made steak and kidney pie with chips and peas with a reminder of the past as the peas were marrowfats - tasted just the same as they did all those years ago - awful - in balance, the wedge of pie was great stuffed full of meat. The number of available dishes is huge, my OH had braised lamb shank with new potatos and the same marrowfat peas.. The decor of the place hasn't changed at all, pure 60s/70s with a fantastic selection of plastic flowers on display.
If your fed up of the current crop of little chef's and layby burger vans and are travelling along the A17 near Holbeach - please, please make the effort to stop here. Its an institution that needs to be kept going!
