Kellah cottage is a very comfortable and well equipped cottage, with beautiful views over the Penines. A friendly welcome from Lesley helped to make us feel at home straightaway, and we had a brilliant few days exploring the area in glorious sunshine! The Lake District and Northumberland coast are both within reach, and so this makes Kellah a great place to stay to make the most of the beautiful scenery, and numerous historical places of interest to visit. A special place to stay.
Really nice place, and stunning countryside/wildlife.
Our son saw a calf born, we had chickens in the garden, a partridge nesting in the corner, cows and sheep all around makes this a real country get away on a working farm.
We used the cottage as a base for sightseeing and visiting Northumberland.
Thanks Lesley and Tom.
Kellah isn't a place you'd stumble across by accident. It's only a few miles from the A69, but the lane doesn't go anywhere else so it's never going to be busy. The surrounding countryside is very striking and full of wildlife. The cottage itself is as near to perfection as makes no difference: clean, well-appointed and welcoming. And the heating! The farm has a bio-mass boiler which appears to provide continuous heat and at no extra cost. There's also a coal fire for an extra feeling of cosiness. We didn't strictly need to use it, but who can resist an open fire on a winter's night? Oh, and there's wi-fi which worked far better than we'd been led to expect (which is in itself a welcome change). I just wish we could have stayed longer. There's little doubt that we'll be back.
