Six adults, a baby and dog stayed for four days at HighTipalt Cottage, and the venue was perfect for our needs. The rooms are spacious and clean. The beds are large and very comfortable and each bedroom had an en suite bathroom. The lounge is comfortable with a wonderful wood burning stove, television and a large dining table . The kitchen is equipped with everything a family would need. Meat and eggs are available to purchase from the farm. The games room provides darts, snooker, table tennis and a variety of games and toys to suit all ages. There is also an indoor pool available.
There is no wifi or phone signal in the cottage, but the signal can be picked up a few metres from the house, and guests are invited to use a landline adjacent to the house if necessary. The cottage is in a very remote location and the area is wild, rugged and beautiful. Hadrian's wall is within easy access and the local Roman museum is very interesting. We would highly recommend a visit to Scotchcoulthard.More
