My partner and I had a very stressfull two weeks waiting on health news and were mentally and physically exhausted, we needed a break and decided to try a little B and B out in the Wilds of Northumberland. We had heard that Haltwhistle was the Centre of England and not too far from home. Close Chare was a lovely find, a small family run B and B the ameneties were lovely, our superking en suite was so inviting and we slept so well I didnt want to get up this morning. But I am glad I did! We both had a gorgeous home cooked full English breakfast with fresh eggs and potato cakes and lots of lovely toast and fruit! I couldnt move afterwards! Our hosts Nick and Nette were great and so welcoming - they even let us have our little doggy stay with us ( worth checking out with them first!!) Great night - great hosts- will be staying again!! <3

Stayed for three nights at Chare Close. Such a lovely warm welcome and spotlessly clean. The breakfast gave us a good start to the day. The open fire in the lounge was most welcome on our return. Nick and Annette are very knowledgeable of the local area and Hadrian's wall, which we walked to from the B&B.

Close to the rail station and the main commercial area, including the TI. The room was spacious and clean, Nick and Annette were very welcoming. Nick took us to the train station in the rain on the day of our departure, which we were very grateful.

This is a beautifully maintained B&B. The room that I stayed in was in perfect condition. There was plenty of storage space and the bed was very comfortable. The bathroom was very clean and the shower was warm and powerful. We were made to feel very welcome during breakfast, which was more than generous and kept us going for many hours afterwards. The town is well worth visiting (5 minute walk to the centre of Haltwistle) and the surrounding countryside is historic and beautiful. Fully recommended.

Highly recommended stopover on the Hadrian's Wall cycle route. Very welcoming and nice spacious clean room where we spread out all our cycling clutter. One of the best showers we have experienced to freshen us up after a long days hilly cycle ride. Room was quiet away from the road with a good view of the mountaineering chickes scrabbling around the raised garden. Superb breakfast to set us on our way and very close to Tesco in order to pick up the days supplies. Plenty of pubs for evening meal.

Room Tip: Let Nette choose!
