Been here a number of times for Sunday roast and never disappointed with the quantity or quality of the meal!! I wouldrecommend pre-booking though as it can get popular and covers are limited.

We had walked near Dorchester and went to the Fleur de Lys for a pub lunch. There was a good selection of meals. My partner chose from the menu and I said that I'd really fancy a cheese salad but there were no salads advertised. No problem! I was served an excellent cheese salad. The beer was really good, the couple who run it did what they could to please without being intrusive, the prices were very reasonable, and we left determined to return.

Fab lunch of roast lamb or rib eye of beef with all the trimmings and enormous "tear & share" Yorkshire puds served on a separate platter! I would rather not have had the plate swimming in a dark brown gravy which sogged up the potatoes and drowned the veg! Still good value at £11 a head and drinks are not overpriced. Service was a little slow as only one plate was brought out at a time by the waitress so no waiting around for everyone to be served or the food would have been cold. We had to find the salt and pepper from somewhere ourselves and drinks must be fetched from the bar so one needs to get them in advance of food arriving. Too full to eat a pudding although they looked tempting. Warm and cozy bar, plenty of parking, pretty village in good walking country. I will be back!

Wonderfulness, cooked with passion.

Don't be put off by the slightly grumpy landlord - it's all part of the experience :-)
