I have eaten and drunk in the Fleur many times, having spent several weeks staying in Dorchester for work. Every time has been a real pleasure.
The pub has a nice atmosphere, with low ceilings, a large fireplace, and for those rare sunny days a lovely garden out the back with Aunt Sally and a swing for kids. The staff are always extremely friendly. The bar I think generally offers 3 draught ales, plus a range of other drinks on tap and bottled. I have tried many nice beers here that I haven't seen elsewhere, and in particular they often stock beers from the Loddon brewery. I guess prices range from £3-4 for the ales, although I don't always notice.
But whilst the beer is good, the food is something else! I have eaten a broad range of the "bar meals" on offer, including the usual pub fare of burger and chips, ham and eggs, fish and chips, steak and kidney pudding, fish pie, and all are really excellent. In particular the pork belly, slow cooked and served with mash and gravy, is gorgeous. I think these meals are all around £9.50, and definitely worth the price, for the large portions and brilliant quality. The only criticism I would have is that green things are sometimes hard to come by!
All in all, a wonderful place to stop by for a drink or a meal.
