We came here via a Travel Zoo offer of two nights bed, breakfast and evening meal, which included a hop on hop off bus tour of Oxford, there are other trips available, we chose Oxford, for two it was £198. The hotel is delightful, set in a traditional 'real england' village. Our room, No. 10, was warm and quiet even though it is to the front of the hotel, the bed was very comfy even if it is bolted to the wall, which was a bit of a worry! The hotel has a very welcoming bar area with real log fires, although coming from the North I had a bit of a culture shock when I bought the first round, but the prices are normal for this part for the world! All the staff were great, helpful and eager to please. The down side, well there is always some, on the first morning the shower was cold, I presumed the system couldn't take many showers all at once, or they need to put some more shillings in the meter, although on the second morning it was fine. The food while very good, is ordered off the Market Menu, which didn't change, even the soup was the same. This is okay for two nights but if you stay here more than that it could get repetative. All that said, it is extremely good value for money, and we would definitely come here again. Oh! and they have a fine example of an 'Act of Parliament clock' which I coveted, I even thought of trying to get it into my case, but it was a bit big!

We spent a happy four nights at this old and interesting hotel in a lovely unspoilt village. We soon got used to the uneven floors and low beams. We were always warm during a cold spell.

Staff in the hotel were excellent as were the waiters and waitresses in the restaurant. Nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast was always served promptly and efficiently and the evening dinner was timed to perfection. The menu was varied and interesting and dishes were always well cooked very tasty and well presented.

Stayed before and will stay again. Sean and his team make you very welcome, always good service and food excellent. This time we had the suite which is outside the main building which at first concerned me ( no coat!) but it was very nice, huge bed.

Dorchester on Thames is a traditional quintessential English village and the White Hart was a very warm and friendly hotel. The hotel is well run and the owner and the staff were really friendly and helpful. The breakfasts were superb and set us up for the day. The waitresses are a credit to the hotel and everything is done with a smile. We were very impressed with the hotel and the staff and would definitely recommend it as a place to stay!

My colleague's and I regularly visit the White Hart for lunch and the food has always been of a high standard, the quality and presentation has even improved over the last month or so and so hats off to all the kitchen staff! One thing that hasn't changed in the time we have be frequenting the hotel.... the attitude and professionalism of their staff! They are all incredibly helpful, polite and nothing ever seems like too much trouble. Lovely venue, lovely people, lovely food. Well done! and thank you!

I booked this hotel through an offer for a weekend break for my husbands birthday. This included breakfast, our evening meal and tickets for oxfords bus tour. Like most hotels you don't really know what to expect before you arrive but i must say we really impressed with this hotel. Its an old coaching inn, so has lots of nice features, you almost feel the place is slightly leaning, which adds to its charm. Our room was brilliant- we had a suite (which i was unaware of before we arrived) which included a lounge area, good sized bathroom and large bedroom, all well decorated and very clean.

The breakfast was enormous with juices, fruit, yogurts, pastries and cereal to help yourself to on top of a cooked breakfast to order. The dinner was even better, a 3 course meal from the market menu was included or you could choose something from the main menu to equal value. But the market menu was very nice and we preferred it to the main menu!

All in all we had a lovely weekend break, and this place was great hotel and being such great value for money makes it even better. Would thoroughly recommend!
