“Lovely warm welcome, perfect house and hostess”
Reviewed 9 August 2011

We stayed for two nights in this beautiful B&B with our two young boys. We had a lovely welcome from Gail who was very good with our boisterous boys and very knowledgeable about the area. The breakfasts were superb. My husband highly recommends the eggs benedict and I enjoyed the full breakfast and scrambled eggs (not on the same day) enormously.

A particularly lovely touch was the beer and wine in the fridge along with fresh milk. The beds were so comfortable, even the pull out sofa bed which I had to share with one child one night.
We will definately recommend Castleton House to any friends heading in that direction and will return ourselves at the first opportunity.

Castleton House is a charming old stone house located in a quiet English village. The room we shared with our 9 year old daughter was very clean and spacious. We had lots of space even with 3 of us in the room. Our daughter really enjoyed curling up and reading in the room.

Breakfast, laid out, in a lovely dining room, was excellent. Gail gave us exellent tips on where we could dine and enjoy an evening stroll. There are some excellent restaurants in the direct neighbourhood which is really convenient. The walk to the top of the hill is short and has a spectacular view of the countryside.

What really impressed us is the trouble Gail took over a book that our daughter lost in the room. She located us in Germany and even mailed it to us! Thanks a ton Gail!

We stayed here on our first family visit back to the UK after many years away. We drove straight from Heathrow, and easy relaxing drive. Castelton House was truly a wonderful haven after our flight and we regretted not planning to stay longer. The rooms were perfect for our family and very comfortable indeed. We were excited to have our first English breakfast in seven years it did not disappoint. We could not have hoped for a better stay and highly recommend Castleton House. We will most definitely be back!

We had a very comfortable room in this lovely old house. The hosts were very helpful and friendly. The breakfast was excellent with home made bread, jams, honey etc and an outstanding eggs benedict. We thought it was good value for money compared to a lot of B and B's we have stayed in. The location is good for Stonehenge and the cross channel ferry from Poole to Cherbourg. The town itself is quite pretty but the pubs within walking distance a bit basic in terms of food although we understand there are a couple of very good places to eat a short drive away.

Room Tip: Only two rooms and both are nice.

We chose to stay at Castleton House for 3 nights during July and use it as a base for our daughter's Woodland Wedding at Bush Farm. Gail was very helpful with local advice, information on restaurants and taxis and providing a perfect “home” for our daughter to leave from.
