Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Can't wait for the renovation to be finished. The scaffolding has been up for at least 6 months. Traa dy liooar? Reception and restaurant have been nicely refurbished but thats about as far as it goes. There is no lift and the stairs are fairly narrow, not ideal if you have heavy luggage. The corridor leading to the bedrooms has signs of damp and mouldy plaster. The carpet is well worn and threadbare in places. The layout is very confusing too, and the Exit signs are easy to miss. My room was clean and comfortable enough though dated. The walllights over the bed didnt work and some curtain hooks were missing (broken) . Honestly is it such a major job fixing things like this? The TV remote was faulty so it's just as well there wasn't anyone in the room next door because I couldn't adjust the volume. At least the plumbing and heating worked. The tea tray was replenished daily - I liked the biscuits. A couple of fruit teas would have been nice rather than just standard Tetley. For the price I expected better. Very limited breakfast menu though what was available was really nicely cooked. Cannot fault the staff.

Stayed on Christmas night. Reception area and breakfast area both lovely. Once entering double doors to rooms, it was like going back in time (not in a good way) An unpleasant smell in the corridors. Room SO basic. Windows blown, curtains didn't fit. Very poor quality throughout room and bathroom. We were very disappointed considering the room charge was over £100. Breakfast very good and all staff we encountered were friendly.

The reception is amazing! The photos of the rooms just don’t do the rooms any justice on the websites. The rooms have not been renovated and this does not reflect in the price. They are old fashioned and in desperate need of make overs. The beds are horrendous and bedding very cheap and thin. Cold and damp rooms. Massive potential when the rooms are done as the reception and bar is lovely, but please reflect the room prices in what visitors are getting for money

Disappointed that non of the rooms have been refurbished. The hotel is very nice until you get onto the landings where the rooms are. Mould growing up the walls outside room and room is very dated and smells musty. Tried to change rooms but nothing available.

I specifically informed the hotel I had problems climbing stairs when booking, but we were confronted with 2 flights of steep and narrow stairs which made access to our room very difficult. (Had I been in a wheelchair, then impossible!) There were no staff around to offer assistance. We booked for 4 nights and checked out after one. And so far no communication with the hotel, despite being promised that they would call. After climbing the very steep stairs, opening the door to the hotel area was like stepping back to the 1980s, the corridor walls covered in ancient textured wallpaper covered in years of magnolia paint with threadbare carpets, the door to Narnia this isn't. The room had peeling wallpaper, dodgy electric cables to the very small TV and toilet 3ins from a radiator, so sitting was impossible without burning your legs. The furniture looked as tho it was the leftovers from a car boot sale, and the wardrobe leaned like a drunk against a lampost. If I could give a minus rating, I would I think if you have mobility issues and would like a nice accessible room, attentive staff and good modern facilities... LOOK ELSEWHERE!

This is our second year at Falcon's Nest. Last year it all felt a bit tired, but this year it has been partly renovated and looks and feels great. However, its main asset is the staff. Particular mention to be made of Tyla (who appeared to be managing during our time) and Paula - a lady who was addressing an issue very efficiently and with little disturbance to ourselves. Nevertheless, for an extremely minor inconvenience, Falcon's Nest were very, very apologetic and generous in their response. Generally, the Isle of Man is an expensive place for us to holiday but, if finances allow, we may well be back at the Falcon's Nest for a third year in 2024!

Great location, excellent breakfasts, lovely staff. Rooms clean and tidy and wifi reliable. Only drawbacks were no lift and an unavoidable staff absence which meant-no evening meal, however staff recommended other exceptional venues nearby.

We made a late booking to Isle of Man and this was the only place that had availability! Know we know why ! There is no lift available , reception never open , extortionate price , terrible communication . The bedroom was tiny. The shower trickled and there was no hot water available . Light bulb not working , bedroom facing High Street with no net curtains . Unfortunately, our flight from Gatwick got cancelled and we arrived 4 days late as no other flights available . The hotel were not interested in giving any partial refund . My father in law passed away the day after we arrived . The staff were not interested one iota . Refused any refund and took 4 days to respond with a cold email stating terms and conditions! Very very disappointed with the lack of sensitivity and communication! A huge disappointment

Nice hotel. Spacious comfortable bedroom; could have done with another chair for this double room. Pleasant bar, superb breakfast. Young staff are a bit inexperienced, and reception not always manned. Unfortunately, they are having major refurbishments done, so the bar, the dining room and usual breakfast room are all closed. Our sea view room had two scaffolding poles right in the middle of the view, which was a bit annoying. We weren't told of the work being done when we booked it...probably wouldn't have stayed had we known.
