A small restaurant that can be easily missed due to the small frontage (look for the big red prawn on the pavement to help locate).
The restaurant has a small menu but what I had was cooked to perfection! Goats cheese mousse starter had a finely balanced flavour and was the perfect start to a meal. For the main courses I had the pot of mussels from the specials board (was spoilt for choice on the specials board I would of eaten any of the dishes), my good lady decided on the beer batter haddock with hand cut chips and certainly did not regret her choice stating that it was absolutely delicious. I finished off with the mango pannacotta, which again, hit all the right notes especially when the small flakes of chilli tickled the taste buds at the end.
To cap it all, our waitress was the most friendly and helpful individual we have met in a long time.
We would highly recommend The Anchorage to anyone who is wanting a cosy environment, beautifully and skillfully cooked food at a reasonable price.
