Came across this little gem in Tarbert. Lunch of seafood salad was prepared in front of us and the presentation was great. Home made cakes acted as a satisfying pudding. Two artists on display and a stunning selection of chef's kit made this a unique venture which needs to survive. The location is not great but easy to find. The staff were cheerful and helpful as well as humorous. A definite recommendation for a fresh lunch, coffee or tea.

Having gone to Tarbert for a meal many a time we were absolutely delighted to find we could have a fabulous lunch in this restaurant. First off the prices were very reasonable but when we saw the platefuls arrive on our table we were amazed. The salad accompaniments were very varied and tasty and the owner was so pleased to share how some of them were made eg the chutney. She was a real food enthusiast and clearly had great pleasure in seeing customers enjoy a good meal and delighted to share the secrets of the ingredients.
This restaurant should be number one in Tarbert. We will definitely go back there next time. Other restaurants in the town either lack kerb appeal or seem to present a poorer quality image or don't open for lunch.
For cheery service, wonderful food at very reasonable prices and a fine ambiance the Gallery Restaurant is the place to go.

The new owner has made a great start with a great range of light lunch offerings there is something for every taste and there is warm and friendly ambience to complement the food. The owner is happy for diners to BYOB so it can make it a very reasonable lunch .It will hopefully do well with visitors making their way back to the portavadie ferry after some shopping therapy in the village

I have visited the Gallery Cafe and Cook Shop several times since it changed hands and I have been very impressed. The food is delicious and freshly prepared, there is a different homemade soup each day and the cakes are lovely. The owner/manager is friendly and helpful and creates a very welcoming atmosphere.
