“Very friendly good location”
Reviewed 17 March 2013 via mobile

We stayed here for one night after a trip to Port Merion. Very friendly hosts. Even provided coffee and cake on arrival. Really big, clean room with plenty of towels. Nice and warm. Good breakfast, our only feedback is maybe we would have liked it half an hour later (served between 8-8.30) but in a way a good thing as meant we got to see more in our day. Great for birds - we saw a jay whilst eating breakfast. Overall highly recommended would visit again.

Other reviewers have said it all. Spacious guest house, quiet, off road parking just outside of Porthmadog run by a really nice friendly couple. Spotless. We slept extremely well. A really good old B&B without frills (i.e. not a gourmet breakfast). If that is what you go expecting, you will not be disappointed.

This B&B is such a lovely little place. Off road parking is available as well. We had a lovely welcome and Gary and Mary were very friendly and helpful. The room we had is very spacious and light with plenty of storage space. Only a 2 minute drive from Porthmadog where we tried Sima Tandoori Indian which we would definitely recommend! Wi-fi available in the B&B as well just need to ask for the code. :) Breakfast was brilliant! Plenty of choice and always kept us full for the most part of the day haha :)
Thanks very much for a lovely stay. Would definitely recommend this place to stay.

Great location, very spacious rooms, perfectly clean. Nice and quiet. Off road parking. A very generous breakfast! Wi-fi did not work in our room. The owner said they had recently moved the hub and they weren't sure what rooms the wi-fi was working in. No big deal anyway as Mary and Gary were very helpful in offering advice on local restaurants/places to visit etc.. Ten out of ten. Would definitely stay here again.

Really lovely b&b with a large comfortable room and friendly owners. Couple of minutes walk from Porthmadog and Borth y gest beach. Comes with free, off road parking and the breakfast was really nice. The room we stayed in had a really nice view and was really spacious. Can't recommend enough!

We had a very large, tastefully decorated room (it even had small framed paintings) with 6(!) closets. Wi-Fi worked perfectly. Very helpful local advice from the owners. The tourist board ought to bring other B&B operators here to show them how to do things right.

Room Tip: Not walking distance to Porthmadog in bad weather, but taxi cost us only £3

Gary & Mary Hodgson were very welcoming and made us feel quite at home during the four nights we stayed at Penaber, just to the west of Porthmadog. With good parking, set back from the road and with a lovely countryside view we were able to relax in a large room with masses of storage - a pleasant change from many B & Bs where you have to keep most of your clothes in a suitcase. Mary easily coped with my wife's dairy free diet for breakfast.
