This was one of our favourite chippies, but recent experience suggest they are letting their standards down. The portion sizes were different, and one fillet was broken in 3 .

Me and my sister decided to walk around porthmadog and ended up outside of here

Was near dinner time so decided to pop in for a take out

Was pleasantly surprised with food and not over priced like most places in porthmadog

Had a large chips to share which was a good portion and two chicken burgers which were very tasty

Staff was quite nice and friendly

Would go agien

Very busy, which should be a good sign and is. Went here twice recently. First time, I ordered in Welsh, but the young lad behind the counter just dealt with me in English which was odd. The cod was brilliant. Very lightly battered, white and very tasty. Almost as good as fish tram chips! Chips were okay too. Expensive though. Second time, when we got home, we realised that they had missed off a portion of chips and the portion they gave us was all the scrag ends. Lovely cod again though. To sum up, beautiful fish, average chips, young overworked staff and expensive.

Fish and chips OK but service rude. Waited a long time without any kind of apology. Totally disinterested in tourists, locals treated preferentially. Were not offered any sauces and forgot to ask as were keen to get out of the place. Spent over £33 for 7 adult meals to find once we'd got back to our holiday rental that an adult sausage and chips consisted of one 2oz sausage and a meagre portion of chips. Not recommended.

Went in for fish and chips 6th July and have to say massively disappointing. Young staff were rude and unwelcoming and served with a nonchalant attitude. We paid just over ten pounds for two fish and chip take aways. The portions were small as was the thin piece of Haddock. No value for money at all.
I suggest some adult supervision may help these kids learn some manners and a trip to the East Coast may enlighten you as to how Haddock should be sold in a chippie. We certainly will not be returning.
