“Excellent base in perfect location”
Reviewed 27 June 2016 for a stay in June 2016

I stayed in this beautiful traditional cottage along with my wife, extended family including 4 adults and 4 children for a long weekend in June. We were lucky enough to have lovely weather during our stay. The cottage is located in a small but perfectly formed village square. There are a couple of very friendly pubs close by as well as an excellent restaurant and fish and chip shop. It is within walking distance of the beach and the town of Porthmadog. We also visited Portmerion during our stay. I would highly recommend the cottage, it has a super sized dining room, comfortably seats 10 people and the kitchen has everything a home has and more. Booked again for late summer.

“half term family holiday”
Reviewed 9 June 2016 for a stay in May 2016

We chose this holiday cottage because of the the area and convenience of parking etc. and for the amount of bedrooms (5) and bathrooms (3) it had. The downstairs accommodation was fantastic and well equipped but upstairs was okay but not on a par with ground floor. The three bedrooms on the first floor were fine but the bathroom could have done with a little tlc. The attic bedrooms were a challenge because of restricted ceiling height and again lacked a little tlc. One of the bedrooms had no floor standing cupboard/drawer space so my daughter and her husband had to live out of the suitcase. We had a few housekeeping issues and these were reported. We thoroughly enjoyed our holiday though.

“Perfect place to stay.”

It was impossible to find fault with this great cottage. Nine of us met there for our annual reunion and the house was was warm clean and spacious. It had everything we needed, loads of clean towels, clean, crisp bed linen and all the facilities our resident chef required. An added bonus is its perfect location. A few step to local restaurant, pubs and shops, as well as being really convenient to explore northwest Wales. We've been staying in similar properties fo a number of years but never found a better one.

This was a superb house to stay in. Beautifully spacious and well equipped and so close to the local amenities.
I will definitely be returning in the future!

“Lovely, spacious and very conveniently located”
Reviewed 20 September 2015 for a stay in September 2015

Plenty of room for the seven of us. Well equipped and spacious.. Only caution would be...be prepared to climb the stairs. Three levels, the top two rooms on the third floor have low ceilings and stairs are steep. Not for anyone with mobility issues ....apart from that ist wasa lovely place. Two pubs that serve great food and the fish and chip shop was also visited by some in our group and enjoyed, just steps away. Also a very convenient Spar shop in the sqaure. Beds comfortable and everything was very clean. Would recommend it.

“Almost Perfect”
Reviewed 20 September 2015 for a stay in July 2015

My family and I thoroughly agree with all the other posters that the home is clean, comfortable, well-equipped, and in a great location. We had a good stay and a great vacation. In fairness to prospective holiday-makers though, it should be noted that the two bedrooms on the top floor have EXTREMELY limited headroom, making it difficult to walk upright in many places. This wouldn't necessarily be a reason not to book a vacation stay at Awelon, as everything else is great, but the property description details should be edited to note this, as prospective holiday-makers may wish to take this into consideration when choosing to book.
