On appearance of this hotel i thought oh my god its a den what i have booked myself into. I was on an Urquhart tour for 5days in Rhyl . My views totally changed as the week went on the staff were excellent and very helpful nothing was to much trouble. The food was top class, and they were certainly not shy with the helpings. The plates came piping hot every sitting. The evening entertainment was also good. My room was spotlessly clean although single bed was very small ( i am 5ft 7" ). The bedroom windows did have a lot of black mould on them but could only be seen when the net curtain was lifted, this gave the room a slight odour. The hotel bar prices were very pricey but then again most hotels are. There are plenty of local pubs around though. Overall i would certainly recommend this hotel for value, cleanliness, good staff and excellent food. I have been on many seaside holidays and have now realised that the majority of them on external appearance look run down. I can only put this down to the sea air eating away at the paintwork, and it most certainly must take an awful lot of maintainence and money to keep them in prestine condition. Well done Westiminster

This hotel typifies the resort it is in, I had a single room which was adequate, but one had to be a giraffe to see out of the skylight window. The housekeeping was good, the restaurant service was efficient. However, the bar and the reception were next to each other which caused problems with the guests attempting to claim their room keys through the congestion. Finally, the owner certainly needed a visit to the charm school with her attitude towards some guests.

Room Tip: Request a sea view, higher floor room away from the lift

Its the worst hotel I've ever seen we stayed 2 nights and there were stains all over our bed sheets our floor as broke and our window was held up by a piece of would because the window was broke when we arrived to our hotel there was very little parking for the cars at the hotel so we had to put our car in the pay a display. Breakfast was far too early in the morning we was getting up at 7:30 so we would be down in time for breakfast. On our second night at the hotel was even worse they had a singer on and our room could hear it and that was being played till late. The smell of the hotel was disgusting its smelt of pee and also cooking. When we arrived at the hotel we walked in and there was just old people everywhere not that it bothered it just made us laugh because we was the only young ones in there. Also the man behind the desk was soo grumpy he couldn't even crack a smile.

Would NOT recommend

Well this hotel is in dire need of revamp everything outdated deco teribble just awfull and for the £160 price tag I paid it was just shocking very bad. Breakfast was eadable only just. The parking is just as bad about 5 spaces behind the hotel down a very dark alleyway you have to leave your keys at reception of you use the car park????????? Never done this before so as you can imagine with a 3 and 9 year old this wasn't atall easy.i parked in the pay n display most of the time.the hotel is full of O.A.Ps on them coach trips. Reading some of the reviews on here some people must have very low standards of what a hotel should be like this hotel I think is a 2 star shouldn't even have that.very bad most certainly would give this 1 a wide birth I had to book in a hurry.wont be returning never.

- very old ruined hotel, needs a renovation
- rooms with a sea view look out on the road and if you don`t close the window, you will be not able to sleep because of the noise pollution.
- floor is very old and loose floor board makes so much noise so you can hear everyone walking on the corridor.
- no parking
- never cleaned windows are so low that you have to sit on your knees to enjoy a sea view

Let's start with the good points:
Good sized rooms
Nice showers plenty of hot water
Mostly friendly staff
Nice breakfast
Ideal location for trips out to the rest of North Wales
Rooms clean

And now for the bad points:
The owner/manager is very rude, arrogant and has no concept of customers service
Very limited parking your car gets blocked in and you are requested to leave your keys at reception so that your car can be moved if necessary - I don't think so!
Reception very unorganised and doubles as a bar
Although breakfast good there is limited choice except different styles of eggs and whether you want tea or coffee

All in all the hotel is run down but you can accept that especially with the good value price. However good customer service costs nothing and the owner should be mindful of that.

Parking is rubbish. Down back alley unlit. Asked to leave keys at reception so owner can move your car!
All staff helpful and friendly with exception of miserable grumpy git bloke behind reception who couldnt manage smile or grunt.
Rooms old fashioned but clean.
Shower is the best feature.
Breakfast Ok
Roll on Hotel Inspector youd have a fit
