“A charming little place.”
Reviewed 1 October 2013 via mobile

Visited recently for one night. Check in was smooth and effortless. The room was old fashioned but in a nice way, it suited the character of the building. The room was large, fully equipted and very clean.
Breakfast was lovely. Set in a very sweet conservatory area which was very relaxing. Food quality was high, presented well and fully enjoyed. Husband and wife team that make a successful attempt of ensuring guests have a pleasant stay. We didn't eat at the restaurant in the evening as already had plans but we would certainly like to in the future. We saw a couple of dishes being served and they looked and smelt amazing. Would definitely recommend.

Ideally located for Rhyl night out. Over priced with average rooms. Needs some attention to detail in the restaurant and updating along with some cleaning to get on with. Proprietors really ought to decide what they selling here - and be more welcoming to their highly paying guests.

When one says that you are going to Rhyl for the night the first image that comes to mind is maybe of some shoddy little run down seafront tourist hotel a bit like Fawlty Towers ... which is why I made sure that we stayed somewhere special. I didn't realise just how special Barratts was going to be, but from the moment you drive through the gates and see the beautiful old house I knew we were in for a treat.

Elvira was a wonderful host, she genuinely cared for our comfort during our stay. The bedrooms were fantastic, such a comfy bed - along with some treats for midnight snacking too. Breakfast on Sunday morning was first class ... I cannot fault this place at all, and I would heartily recommend to anyone that needs to stay in the area.

Elvira & David are the perfect hosts. Made to feel welcome as soon as we arrived & made to feel special throughout our stay. Everything about the hotel is of the highest standard - comfort, cleanliness, food presentation & service. The breakfasts were amazing. Will certainly recommend to others and return ourselves.

Room Tip: All rooms are of the highest standard - not one better than the other

Made to feel at home the minute, I walked through the door. The breakfasts were absolutely the best ever. Alvera and David were friendly and welcoming. Beautiful building steeped in history. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend to anyone and would definitely stay there again if I was back in Rhyl.

We stayed at Barratts in July 13 and had a lovely time, the place is full of history and the rooms are lovely and traditional but the food is the star of the show. Breakfast is amazing and the evening meals are first class, food is locally sourced or grown on site and nothing is too much trouble for Alvira and David the couple in charge.

Would highly recommend as we don't think anything else locally comes close in terms of quality and service.

How delighted we were to have found this hidden historical gem.
Such comfort , style and luxury.
Worth coming to Rhyl if only for this! Wish we could have stayed longer.
Unable to sample evening meal but breakfasts consist of individual stylishly presented fresh fruit, smoothies and honeyed yogurt. Have never seen or tasted such luscious blackberries!
On arrival a welcome pot of tea and light refreshment served in the cosy and cool panelled period room.
An absolute must if considering staying or stopping off in North Wales.

Room Tip: The double room we had had only a bath. No shower or attachment. No problem for us for only one nigh...
