The place is filthy the room had no heating, no hot water, the toilet did not flush, the breakfast was dreadful the sausage was black the one slice of bacon was hard there was ONE mushroom the half of tomato had dried mixed herbs on the top the baked beans were covered in black specs. there wre no cups when cups were brought out they were dirty. I sent my breakfast back and asked for one freashly cooked it came back with the sausage raw in the middle. I asked for a refund of £ 40.00 of the £70.00 we wre charged I AM STILL WAITING FOR THE CHEQUE.

Room Tip: don't have one at all

A welcoming B+B with very friendly staff, especially the landlord Neil. Good basic accommodation with a hearty breakfast. Hotel is very near but not in the town. Bar below is friendly and hard to leave, but sometimes a bit busy. Worked in the area for six weeks, would definitely stay again.

Couple stayed for one sat night at the rate of £60 incl breakfast whilst our son was with a scout group nearby.

The good:

1. It's clean;
2. The bed was actually very comfortable;
3. Neil (the owner/manager) is a very friendly guy;
4. The breakfast was fine (full English/Welsh) and quick;
5. It's comparatively good value;
6. It was warm despite it being very cold outside;
7. Location is good, in a quiet residential street about a 5 minute walk from the high street.

The not so good:

1. The room is small and the bathroom smaller;
2. The toilet seat was not firmly fixed to the toilet;
3. For some reason we could only get tepid water out of the shower even though the basin water was quite hot - fitting problem?

They don't do food on Saturday nights but Neil pointed us in the direction of a good Italian.

So, don't stay if you are looking for luxury. Stay if you are looking for basic, cheap accommodation.
