There's not much you can say about Casa Marilyn other than BOOK NOW. It was by far our best casa in Cuba (followed closely by Panchito's next door).
Marilyn and Adel are very friendly. We got picked up by Adel in his awesome 1950s car and driven through the Vinales countryside. His English isn't the best but he was still very nice.
You get to the house and it is great. Very new and clean and extremely relaxing. Marilyn is all smiles and speaks great English so we were able to get on well. She gave us a fresh mango juice and the great hospitality just continued from there.
The dinner was unbelievable. Way too much though so if you are eating there you can probably skip lunch or just not eat for a few days after. I recommend it. Breakfast is also great. The usual Cuban spread of eggs, bread and fruit with good strong coffee.
The room is very comfortable and private as you have your own lock. There is a fridge just outside with any water and things that you need.
We could only book one night there so we moved next door to her friend Panchito's casa but that didn't stop her helping us out. I got ill on the last day and she gave us medication which is pricey over there and ensured I was fine before starting my journey. She was amazing and very kind.
Marilyn will be your mother in Cuba. She's got lovely kids so you know she'll do a great job. Go and meet her.
