In three weeks of travelling round Cuba this was the only place where we felt unwelcome and treated like a cash commodity. We had arranged to meet some friends in town before we checked in and therefore explained to the hosts that we wouldn't need food on day 1 but would eat there the next evening. The reaction was somewhere between shock, disbelief, annoyance and anger. They checked repeatedly if we were being serious and signalled that we'd be ill after a meal in town. (In fact we had a fantastic Italian meal, see our review of El Olivo). The next morning we dared turn down her unofficial tour guide in favour of the excellent tour booked throught the tourist information in town and that was it. We got the cold shoulder treatment from then on. The food on day 2 was ok but not amongst the best. We decided to shorten our stay and moved onto the lovely "La Autentica" for the third and final night. The upstairs room and bathroom were of a good standard but don't spoil your experience of the warm and friendly Cubans by staying here.
