“Fantastic Spot”
Reviewed 28 March 2014

We spend a week at Treetops at the beginning of March and loved it. Pam and Chas are great hosts, they know everyone and by the time you have been there a week you will too! The house is off the beaten track and a long way from the more touristy areas in the south (take Pam up on the offer of a lift from the airport – you will never find it on your own), but this means that you will have beautiful sandy beaches pretty much to yourself. We hired a car; I think you need one to be able to really explore the island - again Pam helped and it was delivered to the house the evening we arrived.

The house is lovely; our room (including en suite and kitchenette) had a large verandah with fantastic views over Sauteurs Bay. The room was nice and clean, and the sea breeze means that it does not get too hot at night, and you aren’t bothered by mosquitos. Paula comes in everyday to ‘do’ the room and replenish the fridge with bread, eggs etc, the sheets were changed regularly and anything left in the washing basket is done on alternate days. There is also a good wi-fi signal if you need to keep in touch with the outside world.

Pam and Chas have lived in Grenada for a while and know the island well and are more than happy to share their local knowledge to help you get the best out of your trip. We also had supper with them several evenings (a meal and cold beer was waiting when we arrived – thank you!), as well as joining them for ‘film night’.

We really enjoyed Grenada, it’s a beautiful country and everyone was warm and friendly. Treetops is a great place to stay and get away from it all, I couldn’t recommend it more highly.

A stay at Treetops was just what we needed after a miserable North American winter. So lovely to relax in a place with no air, light or noise pollution and to have the chance to experience some real island life away from big hotels, cruise ships and tour buses. If you like walking, quiet beaches, meeting people and having the sense that you are "away from it all" then this is the place to go. Chas and Pam are marvellous hosts and their house has a spectacular location. Highly recommended!

I don't want to repeat what others have already said, but Tree Tops really is a special place and Pam and Chas are incredible hosts with a wealth of knowledge and advice. They go out of their way to make you feel at home and comfortable and really want to make sure you get the most out of your stay. Probably one of the highlights of our visit was accompanying Pam and Chas and some of their friends to the local rum shop on Friday night for happy hour. The villas are perfect - not fancy (no marble or granite) but clean, cozy and comfortable. The fact that their housekeeper, Paula does your laundry was just one of the really nice little touches that you will find at Tree Tops. The views are INCREDIBLE - it's difficult to drag yourself away from the huge veranda and stunning vistas - but you must because there is so much to do and see in Northern, Grenada. There are three beautiful beaches within easy driving distance (Sauters, Bathway and Levera). You will literally have the beaches to yourself - I posted a few pictures on Facebook and my brother accused me of photoshopping the other people out - which made me laugh. No photoshop necessary! The place is just stunningly beautiful and remote. Sauters is a cute village where you can get beer, snacks etc. As others have mentioned, Pam makes delicious bread and you are re-stocked each morning with eggs, milk, coffee and juice - so you've got your essentials! This is a very special place and perfect for the more adventurous traveler who is looking for something more authentic and isn't afraid to go with the flow. If all-inclusives are NOT your cup of tea - and your up for something different and beautiful you should definitely check out Tree Tops. Rent a car and get out and drive around. Go to the Heights and have dinner with DJ and Harriet - where they cook you whatever is fresh and available. Go to Belmont Estate and see how they make chocolate. The driving can be a little challenging - especially for Americans (driving on the left, steering wheel on the left). The roads are narrow and there are lots of dogs, people and goats - BUT there is zero road rage - and if you get lost - just ask for directions - Grenadians are some of the loveliest, friendliest people you will ever meet. So - if you want to go somewhere stunningly beautiful, unique and are up for an adventure - do it - you won't regret it. I should also add that it's a great value for your money. We will definitely be back!

My husband and I spent ten wonderful days at Treetops last month and really can't say enough about the lovely accommodations and the fantastic hosts, Pam and Chas. They make it their job to ensure that you make the most of your holiday no matter what you like to do. They have a wealth of knowledge and are happy to arrange just about anything for you. We had planned on renting a car but with our hosts quite willing to pick us and drop us off in town or elsewhere, we got hooked on using the local buses for any other travelling we wished to do. The buses are incredibly cheap and they give you a chance to meet and talk with locals.
The view from Treetops is second to none and the breezes are constant. No bugs in sight! Our little kitchen was topped up every day with fresh eggs, home baked bread and local fruits. Pam and Chas are excellent cooks so definitely take them up on offers. Chas and Pam thanks again for a memorable holiday.

Room Tip: Both rooms are lovely and quiet.

Thank you to Pam & Chas for this memorable welcome in this little corner of paradise!
Do not forget Keo and Olliver, gentle family pets who participate fully in the hospitable atmosphere of this place!
The room is very comfortable, very functional, it lacks nothing. It is stocked every morning for breakfast with nice Rosa!
The view from the glass veranda is stunning and the Grenadines over the bay and the village of Jumpers ...
Pam and Chas are available, smiling and very friendly, always willing to help or answer questions.
As for the garden, it is wonderful and it has a spa which is benefactor to the end of the day ..
It is a place not to be missed and we strongly recommend
It is ideally located to be able to radiate throughout the northern part of the island.
If we return to Grenada, we might stop at Treetops

Pam and Chas are terrific hosts and set us up for an excellent holiday in this beautiful part of Grenada. They have the knack of making you feel more like a visiting friend than a paying guest. They may offer you a lift into the local town, Sauteurs, to pick up groceries or arrange to pick you up from town after a day’s outing. Or offer to stock your fridge with a cold beer from their cellar for you to enjoy after a day on the beach. We were kindly introduced to Pam and Chas’ friends and enjoyed a meal out with them at Aggies on Bathway Beach. Pam gave us lots of ideas for places to see and explore as well as practical advice.
Treetops is very comfortable and has an amazing hilltop location. You are surrounded by beautiful gardens and lush treed landscapes. If you want you can even stroll down the lane and pick your own grapefruit! There are several restaurants and sandy beaches that are easily reached on foot and none will be crowded. We loved relaxing on the verandah taking in the sights and sounds all around – the sea, birds, flowers, even rainbows !
Away from the all inclusives we feel we gained more insight into the authentic Grenada.

We have just ended a wonderful few weeks at Treetops, with our gracious hosts Pam and Chas.
We have been here several times before, and every year we look forward to our return.
This is a peaceful, quiet area of Grenada, and the views from Treetops, overlooking the ocean and village below, and the lush green hills opposite, present a magnificant panorama.
The local people are friendly and welcoming, and make one feel very comfortable.
Treetops is a lovely villa, surrounded by beautiful gardens. Pam and Chas do their utmost to ensure that you enjoy your holiday, and are very knowlegable regarding the island.
Wishing the next guests a great holiday.
Here's to next year!!
