Stayed at the Summerland Resort in the main building’s second floor for three nights in a one bedroom suite with a fantastic view overlooking the pool and lake.

PROS:
- The property is right on the lake and walking distance to a nice beach via pathways along the shoreline, tennis, boats, kayaks, and numerous wineries all within a short distance.
- The rooms are well-appointed with a nice layout, good beds and okay linens; each room also includes a well-equipped kitchen – makes having the early breakfast on the room’s balcony really nice because the views are fantastic. They also had French Press coffee makers in the room which is always a huge plus for me.
- Location in the Okanogan Valley is perfect, midway between Kelowna and Penticton so it’s not too secluded, but quiet and relaxing.
- Pool and exercise areas were nice, but not unusually well appointed for a property that aspires to be a high-end resort.
- The staff was friendly and helpful when asking for dinner recommendations and local wineries.

CONS:
- House cleaning and maintenance don't seem a high priority as there was mold throughout the bathroom. The building’s windows and outside walls are covered with layers of cobwebs. Seem like these would be no-brainers to clean up.
- Another concern we had was with having to change rooms after the first night, we heard this from other guests too and it is never fun to pack and unpack when you’re wanting to relax.
- The immediate area around the resort has several boarded-up and run-down buildings. Summerland would do well to make this “resort” area an attraction with numerous businesses that cater to vacationers who have money to spend.

Overall, we like this property and will return since we visit Summerland often. Best advice for room selection is to call a day or two prior to arrival and ask for a room on the third floor in the main building for the best views. They have different room layouts, so you may want to ask about the layout.

Room Tip: Best advice for room selection is to call a day or two prior to arrival and ask for a room on the th...

Found the hotel well, was bigger than expected.
Check in very good and quick, room was ready when we arrived.
Staff very helpful and friendly.

Had a nights stay here, lovely location, excellent walk around to the marina.

Jet skis expensive, the cafe is expensive too $20 for 2 ham and cheese salad sandwiches, 2 coke and crisp, we had a $50 voucher to use in the restaurant, was worth it, but would not spend the money if not had the voucher, food was good though, we did not want to travel to the town.

Rooms very good, clean spacious and quiet, toilet roll holder could be in a better place due to fact getting to it under the sink.

Wifi fast and Tv channels okay.

Was a bit out of the town, is worth the money if staying for a night, would stay again if returned.
Overall very good service and nights stay.

Room Tip: Very good for a stop off, not really for a week holiday, as not much to do.

We had a great time. A beautiful room with a great view, the friendly staff etc. Can't believe that we never had stayed here before! The location is perfect too. We did wineries, KVR steam train ride, so much more. We will come back next year again for sure!

We first stayed here with our 3 kids about 6 years ago(teens then) in the summer the hotel first opened. The place was brand new and the service was good. Although the beach area is small the
pool and hot tub were warm and well operated. The lake view rooms were pleasant and the adjacent restaurant was fine for family food.
Now the hotel is in need of a spruce up! Furnishings + carpets need steam cleaning and replacement and finishes are worn. Cleaning and maintenance don't seem a high priority here and both pool maintenance and temperature are inconsistent. Though never part of the hotel operation, the adjacent restaurant has changed hands and is now dreadful. A dim prognosis.....

Dear Guest,
I wish to sincerely apologize for the situation you have experienced during your stay at the Summerland Resort. Thank you so very much for sharing your comments. I have reviewed them with our service team. While this does not improve the experience that you had, we do take guest comments seriously and have responded to correct the items.
I want to assure you that we are addressing your concerns as repeat guest of the hotel. We have been hard at work with staff steam cleaning carpets it is very hard to do during the summer months with the high traffic. We have actually replaced the carpets this past spring on the second floor of each building, this fall/winter season we are excited to be replacing carpets in certain rooms and other common areas. We have many new and exciting upgrades coming this off season such as sofa bed replacement, mattresses etc…
The owners and staff of the Summerland Waterfront Resort & Spa take pride in extending our best service to you. We believe in behaving in a manner that reflects our desire to deliver an enjoyable vacation experience.
If there is any way I may be of assistance please do not hesitate to call on my services. We hope to welcome you back soon and have the opportunity of making your next stay an exceptional one.

We were able to use a Groupon-like purchase to get a room for two nights. Staying at the rack rate, particularly in the summer, would be restrictively expensive for us. We got two nights, a bottle of wine and some candies for our purchase price. The rooms are great and well appointed in a quite-new complex on the beach. Staying in the summer in a ground level room allows you to walk right out on to the beach.

There is not much around the near area, although there is a restaurant associated with the complex that gets good reviews, but we didn't try it. You have to drive a few kilometers north to get to a small mall which has a grocery store. If you stay for a couple of days, there are innumerable wineries within a half hour drive of the resort, many of which are first-rate.

We will be returning if we are lucky enough to have them run another groupon-style offer.

Room Tip: When you book your room, request a lake view. The 'bluff view' is across the street, over an...

Stayed in a 1 bedroom suite on the 3rd floor in the main building.

Pros:
- plenty of space
- heavenly king sized bed
- nice pool
- great lake view

Cons:
- bathroom sink leaked
- odd stain (mold?) on the bathroom ceiling
- exposed plumbing pipes under the vanity (that you could see from the bed)
- horribly useless wifi

A great place if you're not paying full price. A rip off if you are. The pool is nice but I'd hate to see it when the property is busy and the beach is tiny. Oh, and skip the new in house cafe, unless you are the crunchy-granola-health conscious type (which, when I'm on vacation, is not something I enjoy).

Room Tip: Try to get a lakeview and definitely request the main building if you want to use the pool (otherwis...
